Hrithik Roshan’s Rumoured Cameo Fuels Jailer 2 Buzz
Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated sequel Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is reportedly nearing the final leg of production, with the makers said to be eyeing a grand Diwali release. Ever since the project was announced, the film has remained one of the most talked-about upcoming Indian releases.
One of the biggest attractions of Jailer 2 is its star-studded lineup of special appearances. The first installment won widespread appreciation for its powerful cameos by Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal, which became major highlights of the blockbuster.
While the makers have yet to officially reveal the complete cameo cast, actors Vijay Sethupathi, SJ Suryah, and Mithun Chakraborty have confirmed in separate interviews that they are part of the sequel, further raising expectations among fans.
Earlier, Mithun Chakraborty had revealed that both he and Shah Rukh Khan were expected to play significant roles in the film. However, subsequent media reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan exited the project due to scheduling commitments. The production team has not issued any official statement regarding these reports.
Following this, industry buzz indicated that Hrithik Roshan was approached to step into the role. Speculation intensified after the actor was spotted at Chennai airport, with several reports claiming he had travelled to shoot his portions for Jailer 2.
According to the latest industry speculation, Hrithik Roshan’s scenes alongside Rajinikanth have reportedly exceeded expectations, prompting the makers to expand his role beyond what was initially planned. Some reports even suggest that all of his scenes may be retained to strengthen the film’s appeal in the North Indian market.
Meanwhile, there are also unconfirmed reports claiming that portions featuring Vijay Sethupathi could be trimmed to ensure a tighter runtime. However, neither the filmmakers nor the actors have commented on these reports.
With speculation continuing to dominate social media, fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement from the makers. Until then, the extent of Hrithik Roshan’s involvement—and whether his reported cameo becomes one of the film’s biggest highlights—remains purely a matter of industry buzz.
