‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’: A Soulful Love Melody from Nithiin’s ‘Alias Rukmini’ Unveiled
Natural Star Nani, who recently backed the sensational hit COURT – State Vs A Nobody as presenter, is now presenting another intriguing project, Alias Rukmini, starring Nithiin in the lead role. Directed by Dhandora fame Murali Kanth Devasoth and produced by Deepthi Ganta under the Unanimous Productions banner, the film promises an entertaining blend of romance, humour and an engaging storyline.
The makers have now kick-started the film’s musical promotions with the release of the first single, ‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’, an enchanting love melody that beautifully captures the charm of young love.
Composed by Vijai Bulganin, the song creates a refreshing romantic atmosphere with its soothing tunes, lively orchestration, and captivating guitar and violin arrangements. The melody introduces audiences to Krishna’s affection for Rukmini, a schoolteacher whom he admires every day while travelling to court, where he works. Her presence gradually becomes an important part of his life, inspiring him to express his feelings through heartfelt words.
Although Krishna is confident about winning Rukmini’s heart, he finds himself caught in a dilemma over how she will react when he finally reveals his love. This emotional uncertainty adds a relatable touch to the romantic number, making it appealing to audiences who enjoy feel-good love songs.
Adding a delightful dose of humour to the melody, Krishna even presents Rukmini’s photograph to the judge as evidence during a court proceeding, only to receive a stern reprimand. This amusing sequence highlights how deeply love has occupied his thoughts, leaving him distracted even while carrying out his professional responsibilities.
Acclaimed lyricist Purnachary lends a poetic touch to the song with his expressive lyrics, while Anurag Kulkarni elevates the composition with his soulful vocals. The visuals further enhance the melody, presenting Nithiin as an ordinary middle-class young man and Aafiya Sayed as the charming Rukmini, whose presence brings a special warmth to Krishna’s world.
The film has already generated curiosity through its promotional content. Nithiin’s character was introduced through the title announcement glimpse, which attracted attention with its distinctive humour and unconventional characterisation. A separate glimpse later introduced Aafiya Sayed as Rukmini, portraying her as a strict schoolteacher with a strong personality.
On the technical front, Jomon T. John ISC handles the cinematography, while Vijai Bulganin composes the music. Avinash Kolla oversees production design, and Srujana Adusumilli is responsible for editing.
Alias Rukmini revolves around Krishna’s life, where love brings an unexpected secret to the surface, placing personal relationships and social perceptions at the heart of the narrative. With its combination of romance, humour and an intriguing premise, the film aims to offer audiences a refreshing cinematic experience.
The film is gearing up for a theatrical release on December 4. With ‘Ruku Ruku Rukmini’ setting a pleasant tone for the musical promotions, the makers are hoping the romantic number will connect with music lovers and further build anticipation for the film.
