Presented by blockbuster filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced under the Bhadrakali Pictures banner, Romanchakam is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on September 3. The film stars Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar in the lead roles and is produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga. Newcomer Venugopal Reddy is making his directorial debut with the film.
Blending romance, comedy, and suspense, Romanchakam promises to be a youthful entertainer packed with fun and engaging moments. Asian Cinemas, through Sunil Narang, is releasing the film across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
The film’s grand pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, with star hero Vijay Deverakonda attending as the chief guest. Several members of the cast and crew spoke about their experiences working on the film and expressed confidence in its success.
Vijay Deverakonda
Speaking at the event, Vijay Deverakonda shared an emotional note about his bond with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and recalled the journey of Arjun Reddy.
“I cannot put my love for Sandeep into words. It is not just the bond between a director and an actor, nor is it simply the bond between brothers or friends. Our relationship is beyond all of that.
During Arjun Reddy, the two of us embarked on what felt like a war. We had no money, no name, and no influence. Pelli Choopulu had not even released then, so we did not have an audience or fans supporting us. We simply took a bold step forward.
If Arjun Reddy had not happened, I would not only have missed that success, but also the many experiences and memorable moments I shared with Sandeep. We spoke about life on numerous occasions, and those moments are extremely special to me.
When we had no money, Sandeep’s brother Pranay and father sold their land and invested their family’s earnings into Arjun Reddy, believing in me and in Sandeep. I can go to any extent for Sandeep, and he would do the same for me. When he invited me to this event, there was no question of me not coming.
When I saw Sumanth Prabhas, I could see a dream for cinema in his eyes. I immediately felt that one day he would become an actor or a director. I wanted to do whatever I could to support him when that day came.
I also did my bit to promote Mem Famous. The moment the Bhadrakali Pictures logo appears, we hear the sound associated with Arjun Reddy. Whenever Sandeep and Pranay are making a film, I believe it will definitely be successful.
I wish Romanchakam a huge success. I hope this film brings great success not only to Sandeep and Pranay but also to this entire new team.
Vasuki composed the song ‘Radharamana’, which Anand loves. He listens to it every day.
I hope the film becomes a big success right from the premieres on September 2. What matters is how much we enjoyed while making a film. If success does not come today, it will come tomorrow. As long as we believe in ourselves and have the hunger to succeed, success will definitely come.”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that he was impressed by director Venugopal Reddy’s vision even before the film went on floors.
“When Venugopal narrated the story, I laughed a lot. But I asked him whether he could make the film as well as he narrated it. He came back with a six-minute scene. I felt he had executed it even better than what was written in the script.
From that point onwards, I handed over the complete responsibility of the film to Venugopal. I did not interfere anywhere.
Since Sumanth is the main lead, naturally there would be a hero-like feeling around him. But he never behaved that way. He blended beautifully with all the friends’ characters and performed very well. His character is innocent, and I felt he did a great job.
Ananthika’s performance is really good. Everyone who played the friends’ characters performed superbly.
When we selected Vasuki for the music, we chose him with a lot of faith. After hearing the songs and the music, we felt that our faith was justified.
The film releases on September 3, with premieres beginning on September 2. September 3 will be the day Venugopal’s dream comes true. No matter how many films he makes after this, he will never forget that day.
August 24, the release date of Arjun Reddy, will always remain special to me and Vijay. I hope Venugopal also gets a day like that.
The entire team worked extremely hard on this film. You will laugh throughout the movie. The time and money you spend on this film will not be wasted. There are moments that will make you want to watch the film again.”
Pranay Reddy Vanga
Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga praised the performances of the lead actors and the entire team.
“Sumanth Prabhas is naturally a fun-loving person, and that reflects in his character as well. Around 70 percent of his personality matches the character he plays in the film.
Ananthika is a very talented actress and has performed wonderfully in our movie.
The friends’ gang comprising Narendra, Ravi, Venkatesh, and Mani feels very natural, almost like watching a real group of friends. I believe this film will be a turning point for Narendra and Ravi.
Though many of our technicians are newcomers, everyone worked extremely well. They believed in Venugopal’s vision and worked with passion.
Vasuki has given superb music, while DOP Pawan has done amazing work. Venugopal is a producer-friendly director and completed the film within the budget he committed to.
I believe this film will open up many opportunities for Venugopal and several members of the team.

Venugopal Reddy
Director Venugopal Reddy spoke about the freedom and trust he received from Sandeep and Pranay Vanga.
“My journey with Sandeep anna began after Kabir Singh. Whenever he listens to a story, he can immediately understand what comes next.
Both Sandeep and Pranay have a great sense of humour. I approached them with the confidence that they would connect with this story, and they did.
Many people are jealous of the freedom they gave me. Sandeep anna told me just one thing: ‘It is your film and your vision. Just do it.’
He completely trusted my story, my characters, and me as a filmmaker.
When we are in college, we have the confidence that we can do anything. But once we step out of college, reality begins to hit us. I explored that phase of uncertainty through my story.
I wanted to portray that confusion in a natural and beautiful way, in my own style. Sandeep also told me that I had not taken a cinematic advantage while making the film. As he suggested, we focused on fresh writing and fresh performances.
I selected Sumanth after watching a small scene from Mem Famous. I immediately saw his potential. He has performed extremely well in this film.
After Arjun Reddy, filmmakers looked at Vijay Deverakonda in a different way. I believe filmmakers will look at Sumanth Prabhas similarly after Romanchakam.
Ananthika is extremely talented and beautiful, and she has given a superb performance.
I could have asked Sandeep and Pranay for any technician, but I chose to work with newcomers for almost 99 percent of the film. I trusted my vision.
The film will have a fresh feel, and audiences are going to see fresh performances.”

Sumanth Prabhas spoke about how Arjun Reddy and Vijay Deverakonda inspired his generation to dream of entering cinema.
“The impact Vijay anna and Sandeep anna created with Arjun Reddy was enormous. That film had a huge impact on all of us.
Watching Vijay anna and Tharun Bhascker’s Pelli Choopulu gave us the confidence that people like us could also try our luck in cinema.
When we made Mem Famous, Vijay anna supported and promoted the film. That boost is something we still remember, and it continues to give us tremendous energy.
From the moment Sandeep anna told me to listen to this story, and from the moment I entered the Bhadrakali Pictures office, every day of my life has felt like a ‘Romanchakam’ moment.

Ananthika thanked Vijay Deverakonda for attending the event and spoke about her experience working on the film.

Team Talks About the Film
Actor Kamal said he was delighted when he received a call from Bhadrakali Pictures and revealed that he has been a huge admirer of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He wished the film a major success.
Actor Satish, who plays the hero’s father, thanked director Venugopal for the opportunity and said the film would entertain both youth and family audiences.
Costume designer Keerthana said she experimented with new costume designs for the film and described the entire project as a memorable experience.
Actress Manasa, who plays the hero’s mother, praised the dedication of the entire team and called Sumanth and Ananthika highly talented performers.
Actor Sohan said he was thrilled to make his acting debut with the same production house that made Arjun Reddy. He added that the film has the right balance of romance, comedy, and suspense.
Actor Mani spoke about his friendship with Sumanth, Venkatesh, and the rest of the gang, saying their real-life camaraderie naturally reflected on screen.
Actor Narendra revealed that the team underwent nearly six months of rehearsals and said the film would entertain and engage audiences.
DOP Pawan Pappula described his year-long experience on the film as a memorable one and urged audiences to watch it with their friends.
Music director Vasuki Vaibhav said receiving a call from Sandeep Reddy Vanga was initially hard to believe. He treated the project not merely as an opportunity but as a responsibility and gave his best to the music. He expressed hope that Romanchakam would become an important milestone in his career.
Choreographer Govind Master said he choreographed three songs in the film and worked closely with Venugopal to create natural choreography.
Director Meher Ramesh said Sandeep and Pranay are like brothers to him and appreciated their efforts to encourage new talent despite working on a large-scale project like Spirit. He also praised the songs and content of Romanchakam.
Director Sauryuv praised Sumanth Prabhas as a talented performer and wished that Romanchakam would help him achieve stardom. He also appreciated Sandeep and Pranay for encouraging newcomers.
Lyricist Chandrabose described the film as a fun-filled youthful entertainer while highlighting the depth and meaning in its songs and dialogues.
