Ravi Babu’s Razor Set for May 8 Release
Ravi Babu, one of Telugu cinema’s most fearless and unconventional storytellers, is back with Razor—a film that promises a darker, sharper, and far more violent departure from his previous works. Presented by D. Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions and produced by Flying Frogs, the film is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 8, 2026. The date holds emotional significance as it coincides with the birth anniversary of his father, the late Chalapathi Rao.
After the relatively lighter Enuguthondam Ghatikachalam, Ravi Babu plunges deep into a gritty world filled with tension, brutality, and psychological chaos. Wearing multiple hats as both director and lead actor, he brings a raw, unsettling intensity that sets Razor apart.
The film has already generated strong buzz since its title announcement, and the recently released glimpse has only amplified the curiosity. The visuals showcase Ravi Babu in a haunting, spine-chilling avatar, hinting at a character unlike anything he has portrayed before.
Adding to the intrigue, the makers unveiled a new set of posters that capture the film’s dark aesthetic—urban decay, industrial backdrops, and a sense of looming danger. One particularly striking visual features Ravi Babu navigating a chaotic street alongside a young girl, suggesting an emotional layer beneath the film’s violent core.
Razor wrapped up its shoot in February, and the post-production process, including dubbing, has been completed. With final touches underway, the film is gearing up to hit theatres this summer as one of the boldest and most unconventional thrillers in recent Telugu cinema.
Written and directed by Ravi Babu, the film boasts technical strength with Charan Madhavaneni handling cinematography, SS Rajesh composing the music, and Satish Poloju choreographing the action. All eyes are now on May 8, when Razor aims to deliver a gripping and intense theatrical experience.
