180 Students Receive Scholarships from Vijay Deverakonda Foundation
Scholarships Presented to Top-Ranking Students from 45 Government Schools in Achampet Division
Actor Vijay Deverakonda has once again demonstrated his commitment to giving back to society by fulfilling a promise made to his native region through The Deverakonda Foundation. In a heartwarming initiative aimed at supporting education, scholarships were awarded to 180 meritorious students from economically disadvantaged families studying in 45 government schools across the Achampet Division of Nagarkurnool district.
The scholarships were presented to first and second rank holders of Classes 9 and 10, recognizing their academic excellence and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with confidence.
Earlier this year, after his marriage to Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay visited his ancestral village, Thummanpet in Balmur Mandal, along with his wife. During a reception organized in the village, he announced his intention to support talented students from government schools through a scholarship program. Staying true to his word, the initiative has now become a reality.
The scholarship distribution ceremony was attended by Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay Deverakonda’s mother Madhavi, Achampet MLA Vamsi Krishna, District Educational Officer Ramesh, education department officials, local leaders, students, parents, and teachers.

Speaking at the event, Achampet MLA Vamsi Krishna praised Vijay Deverakonda for remaining deeply connected to his roots despite his immense success.
“No matter how successful he becomes, Vijay has never forgotten where he came from. That speaks volumes about his character. His parents, Govardhan and Madhavi, have always maintained a strong bond with their native place. We are proud that Vijay belongs to Achampet,” he said.
The MLA lauded The Deverakonda Foundation for supporting students from economically weaker sections and appreciated Vijay’s commitment to continue the scholarship program every year. He also thanked Rashmika Mandanna for participating in the initiative and encouraging the students.
Rashmika Mandanna Inspires Students
Addressing the gathering, Rashmika Mandanna shared an inspiring message with the students.
“When we decided to launch this scholarship initiative through The Deverakonda Foundation, we felt it should begin from Thummanpet and Achampet, the place where Vijay’s family has its roots. Seeing so many bright young students here today is truly heartwarming.”
She candidly admitted that she was not among the top-ranking students during her school days and praised the scholarship recipients for their hard work and dedication.
“There will be victories and setbacks in life, but never stop learning. Respect your teachers, value your parents, and continue striving to become successful and responsible individuals,” she advised.
Madhavi Deverakonda Emphasizes Values and Hard Work
Vijay’s mother, Madhavi, spoke about the inspiration behind the initiative and highlighted the importance of education in transforming lives.
“We started this program out of our love for our hometown and our affection for children. We understand the challenges many parents face in providing quality education. Children should appreciate the sacrifices made by their parents, while parents should do everything possible to support their children’s aspirations.”
She encouraged students to follow the “Five Ds” of life—Duty, Discipline, Devotion, Dedication, and Determination—and reminded them that hard work always yields results.

Addressing the students, Vijay Deverakonda congratulated all scholarship recipients and emphasized that success is determined not merely by marks but by dedication, discipline, and perseverance.
“More important than the marks you scored is the effort, focus, and commitment that helped you achieve them. These qualities will stay with you throughout life and help you succeed in any field,” he said.
In a light-hearted moment, Vijay revealed that neither he nor Rashmika were rank holders during their student days, adding that they were present simply to celebrate the students’ achievements.
He also applauded the teachers and education department officials of Nagarkurnool district after learning that the district secured second place in Telangana in recent academic results.
Acknowledging the influence of family and education in shaping his life, Vijay said, “Whatever I have achieved today is largely because of the positive environment in my school and the values instilled in me by my parents.”
Sharing his larger vision, the actor revealed that the scholarship program is only the beginning.
“We are starting with Achampet. Our next goal is to expand this initiative to all government schools in Nagarkurnool district and eventually support talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds across Telangana. That is our dream.”
He urged teachers and education officials to ensure that the scholarships reach only deserving students and stressed the importance of maintaining transparency in the program.
“As the new academic year begins, I wish all students the very best. Study well, work hard, and continue striving for excellence. Congratulations once again to all the scholarship recipients,” Vijay concluded.
