Chiranjeevi Meets Telugu Film Industry Representatives Over Single Screen Theatre Issues
Prominent members of the Telugu film industry met Megastar Chiranjeevi today to discuss the ongoing issues surrounding the percentage-sharing model in single screen theatres. Telangana FDC Chairman Dil Raju, TFCC President Suresh Babu, producers K.L. Narayana, Allu Aravind, and representatives from the Telangana Chamber exhibitors attended the meeting.
After listening to all the concerns in detail, Chiranjeevi stated that justice should be done to every stakeholder associated with the film industry. He emphasized that the discussion was not about a single film or one particular sector, but about creating a system that would be acceptable and beneficial to everyone in the industry.
He also reminded everyone that the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is the highest governing body of the Telugu film industry and said that it would be appropriate for everyone to abide by the decisions taken by the Chamber.
Chiranjeevi acknowledged that there was some dissatisfaction and lack of trust among single screen theatre members regarding the functioning and outcomes of previous committees. However, he expressed confidence that the committee recently formed by the Chamber would thoroughly examine all issues before the June 30 deadline and present a fair percentage-sharing proposal that would benefit producers, distributors, and exhibitors alike. He assured that he would personally make every effort to ensure the committee fulfills its responsibilities and submits its report on time.
The members expressed complete satisfaction with the way Chiranjeevi patiently listened to their problems, fears, and the current situation of single screen theatres, and for assuring them that a fair solution would be found for everyone. They also stated that they would inform the remaining members of their associations about the meeting and communicate their approval within 24 hours.
