‘O Andala Rakshasi’ Set for Re-Release on April 24 Following Audience Demand
The socially driven film O Andala Rakshasi, helmed by multi-talented filmmaker Sheraz Mehdi—who also plays the lead— is all set to return to theatres on April 24. The decision comes in response to growing audience demand after the film received an encouraging response during its initial release.
Speaking at the event, director-actor Sheraz Mehdi said,
“This story was chosen with a clear intention—to highlight the urgent need to protect women from deception and exploitation. O Andala Rakshasi is not driven by glamour; it is a powerful, women-centric narrative. It reflects the harsh realities faced by innocent women in society and sends a strong message that those who commit such crimes will inevitably face strict consequences. I urge audiences who missed it earlier, as well as those who wish to revisit it, to watch the film in theatres during its re-release.”
The film was also released in Kannada as O Sundara Rakshasi, where it garnered a similarly positive response from audiences.
Featuring a strong ensemble cast including Sheraz Mehdi, Vihanshi Hegde, Krithi Varma, Suman, Thammareddy Bharadwaja, Neha Deshpande, Ananth Babu, and Priya, the film stands out for its intense narrative and message-driven storytelling. Adding to his multifaceted contribution, Sheraz Mehdi also composed the film’s music.
Set against the backdrop of crimes against women—ranging from harassment to sexual violence—the film delivers a hard-hitting message on accountability and the importance of safeguarding women in society.
Produced by Surinder Kaur under the banner Sky Is The Limit Studios, with Tejinder Kaur as co-producer and presentation by Sheraz Mehdi, O Andala Rakshasi aims to make a renewed impact with its theatrical re-release.
