“Debuting in Telugu with ‘Bhairava’ is a dream come true moment – Aditi Shankar.

“Debuting in Telugu with ‘Bhairava’ is a dream come true moment” says heroine Aditi Shankar.

I played a bold and honest character in the film. It will definitely entertain everyone

“Bhairava” is one of the most awaited action thrillers starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, and Nara Rohit. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, the film is produced by K.K. Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner and presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios. The film features Aditi Shankar, Anandhi, and Divya Pillai as the female leads. The promotional content has already generated huge buzz. “Bhairava” is slated to be this summer’s biggest theatrical release, hitting screens on May 30. On this occasion, actress Aditi Shankar shared details about the film in a press meet.

How did you come on board this project?
Director Vijay sir watched my debut Tamil film and felt I was apt for a character in Bhairava. He called and narrated the project, and that’s how I became part of it.

This is your first Telugu film. What challenges did you face?
Initially, I thought the language would be a barrier. But director Vijay and writer Satya were very helpful, and thanks to them, the journey went very smoothly.

What kind of role are you playing in the movie?
I play a bold and honest yet bubbly character. It’s actually quite close to my real-life personality.

You’ve previously visited Ramoji Film City with your father, right?
Yes, I used to come to Ramoji Film City and other locations in the Telugu states with my dad. Now, shooting here for my own film feels like a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to work in Telugu cinema, and I’m very happy to debut with such a good project.

What kind of films do you prefer doing?
If the story is good and my character is strong, I will definitely take it up.

Your father is one of India’s biggest directors. Do you feel pressure to prove yourself as a heroine?
Honestly, I see my father’s image as a matter of pride, not pressure. It’s definitely a nice challenge.

This is a multi-starrer film. How was the experience working with three heroes?
It was a very fun experience. I already knew Manoj sir. He jokingly asked me what I was doing on set when he saw me! I met Sai sir for the first time during a song shoot — he’s very down-to-earth. Rohit sir is also a very nice person. All three know Tamil, so the experience was very comfortable. They all performed brilliantly.

What about the music?
Sri Charan composed amazing music. The songs released so far have received a fantastic response. Another song is on the way, and it’s going to be wonderful. I love dancing — there are two dance numbers in this film, and both are my favorites.

Do you watch Telugu films? What’s your favorite?
Yes, I do. My favorite is Magadheera because it was the first Telugu film I watched in a theater. Since then, I’ve become a big fan of Rajamouli sir and Ram Charan sir.

Does your father listen to the stories of the films you act in?
No, my father doesn’t know anything about the films I act in. I tell everything to my mother. Dad is busy with his own work and never discusses his film details with us either. He treats his films like his babies.

Does your father watch your films?
He has no choice! If he doesn’t watch, I’ll fight with him (laughs).

How was your experience with the producer?
Radhamohan sir used to come to the sets every day. He really enjoyed the shoot and is a very nice person.

What’s your opinion about director Vijay Kanakamedala?
He’s a director with great clarity. He creates a very good atmosphere on set and knows how to extract the best performance from his artists. He has a clear vision.

Do you have any dream roles?
Yes, I’d love to do historical or period films. I’m also interested in strong, challenging women-centric roles.
