Q: Late marriages is a pan India issue now is there any chance to make this movie pan India?

A: Yes. Nowadays everyone wants to marry after settling down in career or simply just not want to marry until something happens to change their mind. My friend faced with problem, he was never into marriage, but he realised the need of a partner during Covid period. That’s how it is now, people realise the need for marriage at their own pace nowadays. No one want to do just because they had to like in previous generations. Like you said, this movie would be great at pan India level. Let’s see, after release in Telugu, we may plan.

Q: You have started your career with ‘Aa okkati adakku’. Now you’re repeating that iconic movie name, the biggest hit of your father’s career. How did this happen?

A: Only the movie name is ‘Aa okkati adakku’. This movie is not at all related to the old one. From story to characters, everything is with fresh concept.

Q: You should have introduced your daughter in this movie like the same way you did as a child artist?

A: Yeah. You are right a memory would have been good. But we just didn’t think of it.allarinareshinterviestill

Q: Is there any plan to introduce your daughter into movies?

A: Yes. I mean until last month she said she wants to become doctor, now she says she wants to become pilot. So, she is still at a very young age to decide anything. What I have observed is she is a writer. She started writing small stories, so she may become writer, director like her grandfather. I would love my daughter to become a movie director. I want to act in her films too.

Q: Up until now you have acted with heroines shorter than you, but for the first time you are acting with a heroine with your same height? How do you feel about it?

A: (Laughs) Yes. That’s true. Producers needed not to spend on apple boxes for this movie. Yes. It was comfortable for dancing and screen sharing scenes, yes. More than this, I was surprised to see Faria’s comic counters. We didn’t know this before, but she has a great sense of humor. She delivers this small comedic encounters out of nowhere, which was really great. Women doing comedy in Telugu cinema is missing nowadays and I hope Faria fulfils that space. She is completely eligible for it.

Q: Can we expect Sidigali 2?

A: Yes. Absolutely, I have started writing Sudigali 2. Like you all said maybe release it pan India, my Sudigali movie was made into memes people thinking it is a straight Telugu movie and not a spoof. So, next time I want to plan it pan India.

Q: Do you miss the comedy that was in your father’s movies?

A: It’s about writers. In those days, there were about 9 writers who used to sit and write for one movie. But today it’s one writer writing the whole movie comedy as well. This is not a small task for anyone. Industry requires more writers who are sensitive and produce sensible comedy. The viewers have grown with “woke” ideologies now. If we make ‘Kithakithalu’, it would be a disastrous because recently I read a tweet, a women wrote “How is ‘Kithakithalu’ even a comedy? With it’s complete body-shaming concept.” So is ‘Evadi gola vadide’ and ‘Seema sastri’. We should evolve along with the audience. We require those writers now. I do want to act in some dark humor movies.

Q: Can you please say about the producer of the movie?

A: He is really great. He made ‘Chota Bheem’ world famous with his dedication. That is what has attracted to me to work with him.

Q: Was Sudigali an inspiration from Hollywood? What comedy do you want to do next?

A: Yes. Being a huge fan of comedy, I have seen Hot Shots, Scary movies, yes, they are great spoof comedies. Like I said I have started writing Sudigali 2. Let’s see how things unfold. Out of all the comedies, I’ve always wanted to do ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’. It’s really mind blowing to have guts to do such a film. I will do a comedy like that one day.

Q: You have acted with senior actors like Rajendra Prasad, played key roles in movies along with Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna etc.? Is there any senior actor you want to share the screen space with?

A: Yes. I want to act with Kamal Hassan and Amitabh Bachchan, even if it’s for few scenes. In Telugu I want to do a comedy with Venkatesh garu. I think it would be hilarious journey with a great output.

Q: What can audience expect from ‘Aa okkati adakku’?

A: It is an out and out comedy movie that I’ve done after some serious movies. This has my mark of comedy. People will really enjoy it. It’s a best family treat for this summer. It has got some message as well. Taking it or leaving is completely audience interest but the comedy and some fun time is what they will definitely get from ‘Aa okkati adakku’.
