Vikrant Rona Movie Review

Story-

Vikrant Rona is a thriller which is set in the ancient village called Komarattu in Karnataka state. When a police officer mysteriously dies, inspector Vikrant Rona (Sudeep) is called in to deal with the situation. After digging into it, he discovers that sixteen other young children have also been murdered, and that these killings are linked to his life. What links those two? Who is the murderer? and the rest of the story is how Vikrant Rona solved it.

Review-

Vikrant Rona is the third feature film from writer-director Anup Bhandari. One is exemplified by the film’s remarkable technical qualities, while the other is represented by the star power and on-screen charisma of leading actor Sudeep. His story, script, and directing, however, were a disappointment. He gives an intriguing beginning to the story, but within minutes veers off course to include commercial aspects like humor and a side-by-side romantic track involving Neetha Ashok and Nirup Bhandari.

The film’s incredible production values are among its greatest strengths. The setting and the world that have been constructed seem pretty intriguing and give the viewer a feeling of tension. The core of the movie is the camerawork that highlights the forest landscapes and the striking BGM.

A clear timeline is completely missing from the storyline. Aimless and endless throughout the first half, there is no character or plot development. Never has a second half been more odd, strangely. The actual beginning of the movie is in the second half, where there is a story in some form. The suspenseful mystery is one that comes to light a little too late. This movie had the potential to be a great thriller if it had gotten pace sooner. Your patience wanes when the movie lasts at least 2 hours and 30 minutes and the plot never moves forward. The tale is further complicated and sidetracked by an arbitrary love story and random song selections.

Sudeep did an excellent job with his outstanding performance. Sudeep carried the movie on his shoulders since he has a lot of solo parts. He appears quite fit and performs admirably during the climax.

Although the actors and technical crew did an excellent job, Vikrant Rona’s storyline lacks suspense. The narrator runs off the rails and causes chaos in an effort to further perplex the audience. The result would have been considerably better if there was a gripping narration.

Vikrant Rona is a suspense thriller overall with a fantastic backdrop, a strong performance from Sudeep, and outstanding production qualities. Although the world that has been built draws you, the excessive length and convoluted narrative divert viewers’ attention. If you don’t mind the flaws this movie makes a passable watch.
