Lokesh Kanagaraj Launches Priyadarshi’s ‘Idupu Kayitham’

The much-awaited family drama Idupu Kayitham, starring talented actor Priyadarshi in the lead role, was launched in a grand manner today with traditional pooja ceremonies. Produced jointly by Sukumar Writings and Bunny Vas Works, the film is backed by acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar and producer Bunny Vas. Popular Telangana folk singer and actress Nagadurga makes her debut as the female lead, while promising filmmaker Vamsi Reddy Dondapati directs the project.
Set against an authentic Telangana backdrop, Idupu Kayitham promises to be a heartwarming family entertainer rooted in local culture, emotions, and relationships.
Adding star power to the event, celebrated Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj attended as the chief guest and officially unveiled the film’s first-look poster. Several prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, including Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Naveen Yerneni, KL Damodar Prasad, SKN, Bapineedu, Dheeraj Mogilineni, Meher Ramesh, Chandoo Mondeti, Sai Rajesh, Venu Udugula, and Sai Marthand, graced the occasion. Veteran producer Allu Aravind gave the ceremonial clap for the muhurtham shot.

Speaking at the launch, actor Bithiri Sathi described the event as a festival-like celebration and expressed confidence that the film would draw huge crowds to theatres. He praised director Vamsi Reddy for assembling a talented cast featuring artists such as Savitri, Sujatha, Abhai Naveen, Mime Gopi, and several others.
Making her acting debut, Shivajyothi expressed gratitude to the director for giving her the opportunity and highlighted that nearly 80 percent of the film’s cast comprises women. She called the project a meaningful story that offers significant opportunities to female artists.
Actress Chandravva revealed that she has been entrusted with a unique and emotionally powerful character. She stated that audiences would connect deeply with the film’s story and praised music director Suresh Bobbili, whose soundtrack she believes will be one of the film’s major strengths.
Actress Jordar Sujatha said the film would inspire a section of society while delivering wholesome entertainment. She also emphasized the confidence the team feels working on a story deeply connected to Telangana culture and traditions.
Actor Racha Ravi described Idupu Kayitham as more than just a film, calling it a story that binds families together. He praised director Vamsi for bringing together Priyadarshi, Sukumar, and Bunny Vas for the project and predicted that the film would earn widespread recognition similar to acclaimed rural dramas.
Actor Mime Madhu said the story moved the entire team emotionally and expressed confidence that the film could emerge as another landmark rooted story after Balagam. Actor Abhai Bethiganti echoed similar sentiments, calling it one of the most meaningful projects of his career and praising the strength of Vamsi’s writing.
Music director Suresh Bobbili said the film tells a universal story that every family can relate to, particularly households with daughters. He expressed confidence that audiences across regions would embrace the film and thanked the makers for entrusting him with its music.
Director Vamsi Krishna Dondapati thanked everyone who supported the project from its inception, especially Thabitha Sukumar, who immediately believed in the story. He also acknowledged the support of Sukumar, Bunny Vas, Priyadarshi, Venu Udugula, and others who helped bring the project to life.
Producer Thabitha Sukumar revealed that the story instantly resonated with her, reminding her of family experiences and traditions from her childhood. She praised Vamsi’s writing and said she could visualize the entire film during the narration itself. Confident about the film’s emotional impact, she described Idupu Kayitham as a potential milestone project for Sukumar Writings.

Producer Bunny Vas called the film a universally relatable story that transcends regional boundaries. He said the narrative addresses an issue common to every family and possesses the power to strengthen relationships. He also praised Nagadurga’s professionalism and revealed that a special song featuring her would be one of the film’s major attractions.
Making her heroine debut, Nagadurga expressed gratitude to Sukumar, Bunny Vas, and director Vamsi for placing their faith in her. She said the emotionally rich role of Srilatha challenged her as a performer and added that celebrating her 25th birthday in the presence of Sukumar made the occasion even more memorable.
Lead actor Priyadarshi concluded the event by sharing his excitement about the project. He revealed that he plays a character named Srinivas and described the film as a deeply personal story that reflects the lives of countless families. While rooted in Telangana’s language, culture, and traditions, he emphasized that the emotions explored in the film are universal and relatable across the world.
