‘Kotha Malupu’ Set for Grand Release on June 12

The upcoming romantic suspense entertainer Kotha Malupu, starring Akash, son of popular singer Sunitha Upadrashta, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on June 12. Directed by Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi and produced by Tati Balakrishna under the Tathastu Creations banner, the film features Bhairavi Arthya as the female lead. The movie will be distributed by Mythri Movie Distributors.
The film’s trailer was unveiled at a grand event held at Prasad Labs, Hyderabad, in the presence of senior actor Bhanu Chander, singer Sunitha Upadrashta, producer C. Kalyan, actor Raghu Babu, and several prominent guests from the industry.
Set in a picturesque rural backdrop, Kotha Malupu blends romance, suspense, comedy, and family emotions into an engaging narrative. Akash and Bhairavi Arthya play cousins in a traditional bava-maradalu relationship, while veteran comedians and character actors including Raghu Babu, Prudhvi Raj, and Prabhavathi essay pivotal roles. The film’s music has been composed by Yashwanth.
Speaking at the trailer launch, director Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi expressed confidence in the film’s appeal. “Kotha Malupu has been crafted as a complete romantic love-suspense entertainer. Akash and Bhairavi have delivered wonderful performances and share excellent on-screen chemistry. Along with showcasing the natural beauty of Konaseema, the film offers a gripping story packed with comedy, emotions, and unexpected twists,” he said.
Singer Sunitha Upadrashta shared her excitement and support for the project. “Akash is extremely dedicated and hardworking. This is his second film, and I am confident audiences will appreciate his performance. Director Shiva has created an entertaining story, and it is wonderful to see Mythri supporting the film’s release,” she remarked.
Veteran actor Bhanu Chander praised the trailer and the young cast. “The trailer is impressive and engaging. Both the hero and heroine have shown great promise. I hope audiences embrace this film and make it a big success,” he said.
Producer Tati Balakrishna highlighted the significance of the project, saying, “This is my debut film as a producer, the director’s first film, and the heroine’s debut venture, while it marks Akash’s second outing as a lead actor. The film has been shot entirely in a rural setting and offers a refreshing cinematic experience. Post-production work is progressing rapidly.”
