You were born and brought up in Hyderabad. Tell us about your background and what inspired you to enter films.
I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. However, my grandparents came here from Karnataka nearly 40 years ago.
Actress Sridevi has always been my inspiration. I have loved dancing since childhood and have learnt different forms of dance. Dance involves expressing various emotions, and that gradually developed my interest in acting. I pursued my education abroad, where I also got an opportunity to be involved in theatre.
Donga Naa Koduku is my first film as a lead heroine. Before this, I was part of a web series titled Jagame Sangeetham. I am extremely excited to see myself on the big screen and experience the response from audiences.
Tell us about your character in the film.
I play a very cute and bubbly character. She is a little quirky and innocent too (laughs). My character is deeply in love with Eshwar, played by Mouli, and is willing to do anything for his love.
She believes she is very smart, but things don’t always work out the way she plans. Interestingly, she gets innocently involved in certain criminal situations without even realising it. There is a lot of innocent humour in her character. Whenever she tries to do something cleverly, it ends up becoming funny. I really enjoyed playing this role.
How was your experience working with Mythri Movie Makers?
It was a wonderful experience working with Mythri Movie Makers. They are a very big production house, and it is great to see them supporting content-oriented stories along with films featuring major stars. I am very happy to have been part of a project backed by such a prestigious banner.
How was it working with Mouli Tanuj Prasanth?
Mouli is extremely talented and very humble. Working with him was a great experience. He is a dedicated performer, and I genuinely wish him many more wonderful opportunities and success in his career.
What was your reaction when you first heard the story?
I instantly liked the title when I heard it. Donga Naa Koduku is very catchy, entertaining and something everyone can relate to. I also loved the story when it was narrated to me. It has plenty of entertainment, and I felt it would be a fun experience for audiences.
How important is dance in the film?
There is a dance number in the film that will definitely entertain audiences. Mouli also has a separate solo song. I love dancing, and I would like to prove myself as a dancer through some exciting dance numbers in my upcoming films.
Who are your favourite dancing heroes in Telugu cinema?
Ram Charan garu, NTR garu and Allu Arjun garu are my favourite dancing heroes. They are phenomenal performers and dancers.
How is the music of the film?
Sinjith is a very talented musician. Since this is a crime comedy entertainer, he has composed music that perfectly complements the film’s mood and genre. The music is really impressive.
What kind of roles are you aspiring to play? Do you have a dream role?
Mahanati is one of my favourite films. I love the way it explores different emotions. I would love to be part of a film that gives me the opportunity to portray a wide range of emotions and showcase my acting abilities.
I am also interested in doing sports-based films. I particularly enjoy romantic comedies, but I am equally fascinated by horror films and suspense thrillers. I would love to explore different genres and experiment with diverse characters.
Tell us about your director, Srinu Kambala.
He is a very relaxed and composed person. This is his first film as a director, but you would never see him looking tense on the sets. He is always cool and handles things calmly. It was a very comfortable experience working with him.
What kind of experience can audiences expect from Donga Naa Koduku?
Audiences will walk out of the theatres with smiles on their faces. The film has plenty of entertaining moments and fresh comedy. It is a fun-filled entertainer that the entire family can watch and enjoy together. I am confident that audiences will have a great time watching it.
What are your upcoming projects?
I am currently working on two projects in Tamil. I am excited about these opportunities and look forward to exploring more interesting roles in different languages.
