Sree Vishnu’s ‘Comrade Kalyan’ Teaser Launched Grandly; Film Set for October 9 Release
‘King of Entertainment’ Sree Vishnu is gearing up to entertain audiences with his upcoming film ‘Comrade Kalyan’, a unique entertainer that blends period elements, humour, romance and emotion. Directed by Janakiram Marella, the film is presented by Kona Venkat and produced by Venkat Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 9. After creating curiosity with its glimpses and songs, the makers have now unveiled the much-awaited teaser, which promises a fun-filled yet intriguing cinematic experience.
A Story Set Against the 1992 Andhra-Odisha Border
Set in the Andhra-Odisha border region in 1992, ‘Comrade Kalyan’ features Sree Vishnu as a theatre owner and a die-hard fan of revolutionary filmmaker R. Narayana Murthy. He regularly screens Narayana Murthy’s films at his theatre and leads a cheerful life without major complications.
However, his life takes an unexpected turn when an Odia girl enters his world. As he falls in love with her, a series of unforeseen circumstances changes his life and eventually pushes him towards the path of Naxalism.
Despite the serious backdrop, director Janakiram Marella appears to have presented the story predominantly through a light-hearted and entertaining lens. Except for a few sequences connected to the Naxalite backdrop, the teaser maintains a fun and breezy tone, with humour emerging as one of the film’s key strengths.
Sree Vishnu Impresses With His Comic Timing
Sree Vishnu once again lives up to his ‘King of Entertainment’ tag with his effortless screen presence and impeccable comic timing. His portrayal of a theatre owner and an ardent fan of R. Narayana Murthy brings plenty of humour to the character.
The scenes featuring Sree Vishnu alongside Satya and Sudarshan stand out as some of the major highlights of the teaser.
Mahima Nambiar makes an impression as the Odia girl, while Radhika Sarathkumar appears convincing in her role. Shine Tom Chacko is seen in a serious avatar, while Upendra Limaye plays a key character.
Strong Visuals and Engaging Music
Cinematographer Sai Sriram has beautifully captured the rural landscapes and natural surroundings of the Andhra-Odisha border region. The lush greenery, forests and authentic locations add considerable visual richness to the film.
Music director Vijay Bulganin complements the film’s humorous mood while also creating tension in the forest sequences set against the Naxalite backdrop. Chota K. Prasad is handling the editing, while the production values appear grand and impressive.
The teaser not only promises plenty of humour and entertainment but also raises curiosity about the transformation of Kalyan’s character. The key question that emerges is: What circumstances force a happy-go-lucky theatre owner like Kalyan to eventually choose the path of revolution?

Vijayendra Prasad Wishes Sree Vishnu a Big Success
Writer Vijayendra Prasad added his trademark humour while speaking at the event.
“Comrade can be split as ‘Come Ready’. A king who remains silent, comes slowly and wins hearts. Who said Sree Vishnu’s film should become the biggest hit? I never said that. Because no matter how much he achieves, it should still remain one or two crores below ‘Baahubali’,” he joked.
He wished Sree Vishnu all the best and thanked R. Narayana Murthy, Kona Venkat and everyone associated with the event.
R. Narayana Murthy Praises Sree Vishnu
Revolutionary filmmaker R. Narayana Murthy congratulated the team for the grand welcome and appreciated Sree Vishnu for encouraging new directors.
“It is truly a great thing that Sree Vishnu is giving opportunities to new directors. A rising hero opening his doors to newcomers gives immense encouragement and confidence to many aspiring filmmakers.
Those who sacrifice their lives for the people are called comrades. I heard that the censor authorities raised an objection to the word ‘Comrade’. It is not right to create unnecessary difficulties for the film industry. Cinema is an industry built on the hard work of many people. Please do not trouble the industry unnecessarily. This is a matter of freedom of expression, and I request that it should not be restricted.
After watching the teaser, I could see a lot of entertainment and love. Janakiram has made the film wonderfully. I wish the film a huge success,” he said.
Bobby: “It Will Definitely Be a Big Blockbuster”
Director Bobby said that Kona Venkat has been a mentor and a father figure to him in the industry.
“Kona Venkat garu is like a godfather to me. I learned from him how to navigate the film industry. I have heard this story, and I am confident that it will become a big hit.
Janakiram is a very confident director. This film will definitely make money because Kona garu takes care of every aspect very carefully. Sree Vishnu, like Ravi Teja garu, continues to give opportunities to new directors. I am certain this film is going to be a big blockbuster,” he said.

Director Shiva Nirvana said, “Kona garu gave me my first opportunity to become a director with ‘Ninnu Kori’. His taste is always perfect. I have been travelling with Sree Vishnu since ‘Solo’. Writer and filmmaker BVS Ravi, who has also acted in a small role in the film, said, “I have done a small character in this movie. Janakiram has made the film with tremendous confidence. Films have been performing wonderfully over the last three months. However, there have been some issues with censorship. My request is that films should not be subjected to unnecessary difficulties from the censor authorities.”
