Sharwa-Sreenu Vaitla’s George Krish Set for Sankranti 2027
Charming Star Sharwa is all set to join hands with director Sreenu Vaitla for the first time, promising a refreshing family entertainer for the upcoming Sankranti season. Produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under Anil Sunkara’s prestigious AK Entertainments banner and presented by ATV, the film has been titled George Krish. Ajay Sunkara is the co-producer.
The much-awaited project was launched grandly today with a traditional pooja ceremony. Producer Suresh Babu switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot, while MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav sounded the clapboard. Director Sreenu Vaitla directed the first shot, marking the official beginning of the film’s shoot.
The makers also unveiled the film’s intriguing title and release date through an eye-catching poster. George Krish is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on January 14, 2027, coinciding with the Sankranti festival.
Sankranti holds a special place in Sharwa’s career, with the actor delivering memorable festive successes such as Shatamanam Bhavati, Express Raja and Nari Nari Naduma Murari. His recent successes, including Nari Nari Naduma Murari and Biker, have further strengthened his position, raising expectations for his collaboration with Sreenu Vaitla.
The title poster has been designed with a vibrant festive aesthetic. A yellow-orange backdrop, traditional ornamental elements and a stylish handwritten title create an instantly appealing visual. The title is creatively incorporated into an hourglass design, with bold black brush-stroke detailing adding to its distinctive look. A tiny silhouette of Sharwa lifting the heroine is also integrated into the design, hinting at the romantic flavour of the story.
The film brings together an impressive technical team. KV Guhan is handling the cinematography, while Anup Rubens is composing the music. Avinash Kolla is the production designer, and Amar Reddy Kudumula is responsible for editing. The story and writing are being handled by Nandu Savarigana and Gopi Mohan, with Kishore Garikipati serving as executive producer.
In another notable move, the makers announced the film’s worldwide theatrical distribution partners on the launch day itself. Asian Suresh Entertainments will distribute the movie in Nizam, while Vaasudeva Movie Creations will handle Vizag, Vintage Creations East, Adithya Films West, Vyom Cinemas Krishna, RK Entertainments Guntur, Abhi Cinemas Nellore and Shilpakala Entertainments Ceeded. Overseas distribution will be handled by VYOM Cinemas and Cinema Paradiso.
With Sharwa’s strong Sankranti track record, Sreenu Vaitla’s expertise in delivering entertaining family-oriented films and the curiosity generated by the unique title, George Krish is already creating interest among movie lovers.
The film is expected to be a colourful, entertaining and family-friendly festive outing, with January 14, 2027 marking its arrival in theatres worldwide.
