Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainment, the film is currently in the final stages of post-production. The promotional campaign has already created solid buzz, with the title glimpse generating curiosity and the first single “Kamsahamnida” emerging as a chartbuster. Now, the teaser has further amplified expectations for the film.
The teaser opens with a voiceover from Kanakaraju, introducing his hometown of Penukonda in Rayalaseema. A carefree and mischievous young man, Kanakaraju’s life takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love with a Korean woman. However, things become even more bizarre after a mysterious vessel arrives from Korea, bringing with it supernatural forces. Possessed by a Korean spirit, Kanakaraju transforms into the eccentric Korean Kanakaraju, setting the stage for a hilarious yet spooky adventure filled with action, fantasy, and comedy.
Varun Tej appears to be in terrific form, effortlessly slipping into the role while delivering the Rayalaseema dialect with remarkable authenticity. His rugged long-haired makeover adds to the mass appeal, and his stylish transformation into Korean Kanakaraju towards the end of the teaser is undoubtedly one of its biggest whistle-worthy moments. His comic timing is another major highlight, particularly in his entertaining scenes with comedian Satya, which promise plenty of laughs. Ritika Naik also makes a charming impression as the Korean girl.
Director Merlapaka Gandhi, known for his entertaining commercial entertainers, once again showcases his strength in blending comedy with fresh storytelling. He cleverly contrasts the rustic backdrop of Penukonda with the vibrant visuals of Korea, creating a unique cinematic experience. The seamless mix of rural humor, supernatural twists, action, and fantasy gives the film a distinctive identity while retaining strong commercial appeal.
Technically, the teaser impresses across departments. Cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani beautifully captures both the earthy landscapes of Rayalaseema and the colourful locales of Korea. S. Thaman’s energetic background score elevates every moment, perfectly balancing the horror, comedy, action, and fantasy elements. Editor Satyaa G keeps the teaser crisp and engaging with sharp cuts and seamless pacing, while the rich production values of UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment are evident in every frame.
Overall, the teaser successfully introduces an unusual and entertaining premise that stands out from conventional horror comedies.
