Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaaram Creates History, Crosses ₹100 Crore Worldwide
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has scripted a new chapter in Telugu cinema history as her blockbuster Maa Inti Bangaaram (MiB) officially crossed the coveted ₹100 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office. The milestone makes it the first-ever female-led Telugu film to enter the prestigious ₹100 crore club, further cementing Samantha’s position as one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars.
Just last week, Maa Inti Bangaaram emerged as the highest-grossing woman-led Telugu film of all time. With its latest achievement, the action-packed family entertainer has reportedly recovered over 300% of its production budget, making it one of the most profitable women-centric films in Indian cinema.
The film has shattered several box office records during its remarkable theatrical run. Apart from becoming the first female-led Telugu film to gross over ₹100 crore worldwide, it also registered the highest overseas collections for a woman-led Telugu film, earning more than $2.5 million internationally. Additionally, the film now ranks No. 6 among India’s highest-grossing solo female-led films, reflecting its widespread appeal across domestic and overseas markets.
Maa Inti Bangaaram is the brainchild of filmmaker Raj K. Nidimoru, who conceptualized and developed the project alongside director B.V. Nandini Reddy. The film is jointly produced by Raj K. Nidimoru, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Himank Reddy Duvuru under the Tralala Moving Pictures banner.
Released on June 19, 2026, the film hit theatres simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, with the Tamil version titled Engal Thangam. Besides Samantha in the lead role, the film features Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami, Sreemukhi, and Anand in pivotal roles.
The film has received an overwhelming response from audiences, particularly women, who turned out in large numbers to celebrate the emotionally engaging action-comedy. Samantha’s powerful performance, the ensemble cast, situational humor, heartfelt family emotions, and realistically choreographed action sequences have all been widely appreciated by moviegoers and critics alike.
Expressing her happiness over the historic achievement, Samantha said, “This isn’t just a number for us! Maa Inti Bangaaram proves that audiences across languages are ready to back a story led entirely by a woman.”
Creator and producer Raj K. Nidimoru shared, “Finally, I got to make a Telugu film and I’m truly overwhelmed by the love and support it has received. I’m grateful that audiences have embraced it as their own.”
Producer Himank Reddy Duvuru added, “₹100 crore for a woman-led film is a milestone for the industry. Maa Inti Bangaaram will become a case study in filmmaking and distribution for years to come.”
With its record-breaking box office performance and continued successful theatrical run across India and overseas, Maa Inti Bangaaram has not only emerged as a commercial blockbuster but has also set a new benchmark for women-led films in Telugu cinema, proving that strong female-driven stories can achieve massive box office success on a global scale.
