Varalaxmi’s Non-Cooperation Hurt ‘Police Complaint’: Director
The upcoming entertainer Police Complaint, a unique blend of horror, action, thriller, comedy, and romance, is gearing up for a grand worldwide release in Telugu and Kannada on June 12. Produced by Balakrishna Maharana under the MSK Pramida Sri Films banner and directed by Creative Director Sanjeev Megoti, the film’s pre-release event was held in a grand manner at the Film Chamber, Hyderabad.
Speaking at the event, director Sanjeev Megoti shared details about the film and made strong remarks regarding actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s alleged lack of support during the film’s promotional campaign.
“This is the 11th film of my directorial career. I am grateful to the producers who trusted my story and vision. We completed the film in just 45 days with the participation of 52 senior artists. The story revolves around an intriguing concept called ‘Chain Reaction of Karma.’ Along with horror and thriller elements, the film offers a balanced mix of action, emotion, and entertainment.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar played a very important role in the movie, and I believe it will remain one of the most memorable characters in her career. We extended every possible support to ensure her comfort during the project. However, she was not readily available even for dubbing, which created several challenges for our team. As per the agreement, she was expected to participate in promotional activities, but unfortunately, she did not respond to our requests. We only asked her to spare an hour for promotions, but she did not attend. It is disappointing when someone accepts remuneration but does not fulfill promotional commitments. This has resulted in significant loss to our film. Just like the concept of our movie, karma eventually catches up with everyone,” he stated.
Actor Krishna Sai, who plays a key role in the film, expressed his disappointment over the lack of promotional support from some of the lead actors.
“I consider it a blessing to have performed in a special tribute song dedicated to Superstar Krishna. The song was grandly shot at Ramoji Film City and is sure to strike an emotional chord with audiences. It is unfortunate that major actors like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Naveen Chandra did not participate in the film’s promotions despite prior agreements. Director Sanjeev Megoti has made a fantastic film, and I strongly believe it will emerge as a major success,” he said.
Balaji Sharma, personal PRO of Superstar Krishna, praised the tribute song featured in the film.
“Krishna Sai has been an ardent admirer of Superstar Krishna since childhood. The special song in this film beautifully celebrates the legacy of Krishna garu and is sure to evoke nostalgia among fans. I am confident that Krishna’s admirers will wholeheartedly support the film when it releases on June 12,” he said.
Actress Baby Tanushree shared her experience of working on the film, saying, “It was a wonderful experience working alongside Krishna Sai sir. Director Sanjeev Megoti sir encouraged and supported me throughout the project.”
Actress Krithi Verma expressed her gratitude to the team and said, “I thank director Sanjeev Megoti garu for giving me this opportunity and Krishna Sai garu for his constant support. I believe this film will be a significant step forward in my career. I request audiences to watch and encourage our movie.”
The trailer and songs of Police Complaint have already generated a positive response from audiences. With its intriguing ‘Chain Reaction of Karma’ theme and a blend of multiple commercial elements, the film has created considerable curiosity among movie lovers.
