Prabhas’ Fauzi Holds the Key to His Entire Future Lineup
Prabhas’ much-anticipated period war drama Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is moving steadily toward completion. According to industry buzz, only three major action sequences are left to be filmed, while most of the production has already been wrapped up. Prabhas has reportedly completed his talkie portions, with only select action scenes pending.
The makers are now strongly eyeing an October release, moving away from their earlier Diwali release plan. The shift appears to be a strategic move to avoid a box-office clash with Ramayana Part 1, which is expected around the festive season. With overseas markets playing a vital role in Prabhas’ box office performance, securing a solo release window has become a top priority.
The release timing of Fauzi carries significance beyond just one film—it directly impacts Prabhas’ upcoming projects. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is currently targeting a March 2027 release, making it essential to maintain a five-to-six-month gap between major releases. This gap is particularly important for OTT deal structures, marketing campaigns, and audience anticipation.
The pressure on Fauzi is immense, especially after Prabhas’ recent setback with The Raja Saab, which failed at the box office and drew severe criticism—reportedly even more than Adipurush. As a result, fans and trade circles are looking at Fauzi as a career-defining film that could restore Prabhas’ momentum.
Set in the 1940s pre-Independence era, Fauzi casts Prabhas in the role of a soldier. The film is expected to combine large-scale war drama with an emotionally driven love story, staying true to Hanu Raghavapudi’s storytelling style. Industry insiders suggest that the climax sequence could become one of the film’s biggest talking points, potentially leaving a lasting emotional impact.
Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin has already begun work on Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, though the sequel is targeting a 2028 release, leaving no immediate scheduling concerns. However, Salaar 2 remains uncertain, as director Prashanth Neel is currently tied up with multiple projects, including one featuring Jr. NTR.
The coming months will be decisive for Fauzi. If production stays on track for October, promotional activities are expected to begin well in advance, possibly from the summer season. Reports also indicate that Vishal Chandrasekhar’s music has shaped up impressively, adding another layer of anticipation.
What makes Fauzi especially critical is its ripple effect on Prabhas’ future slate. Any delay in Fauzi could directly impact Spirit, triggering a chain of scheduling changes across his lineup. That is why Fauzi is not just another release—it has become the foundation for Prabhas’ upcoming cinematic roadmap.
For now, Fauzi remains Prabhas’ biggest priority. After a brief break, the actor is expected to resume shooting soon and focus on wrapping up the remaining portions, while parallel planning for Spirit may continue based on schedule availability.
