Tamil Nadu Polls 2026: Celebrities Lead Early Voting Across State
Polling for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections is underway across all 234 constituencies, with a strong turnout reported from the early hours. This crucial electoral exercise will determine the next government in the state, as over 5.73 crore voters decide the fate of 4,023 candidates.
Voters from various districts have been actively participating, and the day has also witnessed the presence of several prominent public figures and film personalities at polling booths. Their participation has drawn attention and encouraged citizens to take part in the democratic process.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi cast his vote in Chennai and urged the public, especially the youth, to come forward and exercise their right to vote, calling it a key responsibility in a democracy.
Actress Trisha Krishnan also participated in the voting process, casting her vote alongside her mother in Chennai. Veteran actor Prabhu and actor Vikram Prabhu were seen casting their votes at a polling station in the city as well.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin exercised his franchise in Chennai and appealed to citizens to actively participate in the democratic process. He expressed confidence in the state’s future and emphasized the importance of every vote.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also cast his vote and was seen displaying his inked finger, symbolizing participation in the electoral process. Actor Dhruv Vikram joined the list of early voters in the city.
Superstar Rajinikanth cast his vote and greeted the public after exercising his franchise. Actor and politician Vijay also took part in the polling process, marking his participation in this significant election.
Actor-politician Kamal Haasan arrived to vote along with his daughter, actress Shruti Haasan, highlighting the importance of civic duty within families.
Actors Gautham Karthik and Ajith Kumar also cast their votes in Chennai, joining the long list of film personalities participating in the elections.
Actress and politician Khushbu Sundar cast her vote and strongly encouraged the public not to treat polling day as a holiday. She emphasized that voting is the foundation of accountability in a democracy and urged citizens to step out and make their voices heard.
