The prestigious film “Thammudu”, starring Nithiin and directed by Sriram Venu, is being produced by the renowned banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, the film also stars Laya, Varsha Bollamma, and Sapthami Gowda in key roles. It is all set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on July 4th. Today, the film’s trailer was launched in a grand event held in Hyderabad.

Producer Dil Raju :
“After the blockbuster ‘Sankranthi’, we waited to announce the release date for ‘Thammudu’. Director Sriram Venu worked hard for four years on this film. From the beginning, he said he wanted the visuals and sound to be unique. He put in immense effort. Some media friends asked if this film is like ‘Muddula Mamayya’. No, this is a new concept based on the relationship between a brother and sister — a concept with no reference. We got a great response to the trailer and we believe we’ll get the same from the audience in theatres.
When thinking of who should play the sister, Sriram approached Laya garu in the US, narrated the script, and convinced her. We are happy that she is returning to the industry through our banner. After ‘Kantara’, Sriram chose Sapthami Gowda for an important role.
This film is very important for Nithiin. Media friends have been calling and messaging me, saying the trailer is superb. We’ve written our exam, and we’re now waiting for the result on July 4.
These days it’s hard to bring audiences to theatres. But because they liked our trailer, the media is helping promote it well. Only four or five films have succeeded theatrically in the past six months — that shows how tough the current situation is. If the film succeeds, everyone’s remuneration goes up. If it flops, the producer and distributor suffer. We only aimed for genuine views for the trailer. If the content is good, the audience will support it. Telugu cinema is in the No. 1 position — and we need to work hard to maintain it. Media support is crucial for this.”
Director Sriram Venu :
“I’m very happy to see the response the trailer is receiving. Everything I wanted to say, I’ve said through the trailer. From now on, I’m eager to hear what you say about the film. Some heroes rejected this script. But Nithiin understood its emotion and gave me complete freedom.
I credit the upcoming success of ‘Thammudu’ to Dil Raju garu, Nithiin, Laya garu, and my entire team. We faced schedule, date, and weather issues, so the film got delayed.
‘Thammudu’ is an out-and-out commercial film, but with a fresh screenplay. It’s different from ‘Icon’.
In my life, the women I love are my mother, sister, daughter, and wife — so all my emotions reflect in them and in my films. Nithiin doesn’t just think about himself, he thinks about the film. After Pawan Kalyan, I see that quality in Nithiin. He, Dil Raju garu, and I are all fans of Pawan Kalyan. That’s why we named this film ‘Thammudu’.”
