“CM Pellam” Set for May 9 Release: A Political Satire with a Strong Social Message
Hyderabad, May 6: The upcoming Telugu film “CM Pellam”, starring seasoned actors Indraja and Ajay in the lead roles, is all set to hit theaters on May 9, 2025. Directed by Gaddam Ramana Reddy and produced by Bolla Ramakrishna Reddy (BRK), this political drama promises not just entertainment but also a thought-provoking message.
At a press meet held in Hyderabad, director Ramana Reddy shared his vision behind the film. “In every election, we see MLAs and their spouses seeking votes. But how many of them genuinely meet and address the concerns of those same voters after winning? Through this film, I raise that question. I hope that after watching CM Pellam, leaders begin interacting with the people more meaningfully,” he said.
The film addresses how an MLA’s wife can bridge the gap between the elected representative and the public during his absence. “She doesn’t need to do much—just spending two or three hours listening to the people’s problems can make a huge difference,” Reddy emphasized.
The film also touches on issues affecting the younger generation and takes a satirical jab at political leaders using vulgar language in public. Reddy added that he plans to submit a petition to the High Court and the Governor, advocating for a rule disqualifying politicians who use abusive language from contesting elections for five years. “This is not just a routine film; it’s entertainment with a message,” he concluded.
Actor Ajay expressed his excitement about the project: “Ramana Reddy came to me after 25 years in the US with a fully bound script. These days, that’s rare. What convinced me was the content—centered around women empowerment and political reform. Working with Indraja again after ‘Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya’ has been great. It’s an honor to be part of a film alongside veterans like Jayasudha, Suman, and Srinivas.”
Producer BRK (Bolla Ramakrishna Reddy) stated, “The film isn’t just political; it reflects today’s election realities, voter dynamics, and justice. I may not be in politics, but my mother is a village sarpanch. Inspired by that experience, I wanted to back a film that promotes positive change. Ramana Reddy, Ajay, and Indraja have all worked tirelessly.”
Actor Srinivas added, “Ramana Reddy has returned with a renewed purpose—to deliver a strong message to society. Every frame of the film carries meaning. The story explores how a Chief Minister’s wife could serve the public directly. The casting is meticulous, and I urge the industry to support local artists instead of importing minor roles from outside.”
With its bold narrative and focus on political accountability and women empowerment, “CM Pellam” is gearing up to be more than just a movie—it’s a movement. Don’t miss its theatrical release on May 9, 2025.
