Single is a very special movie in my career: heroine Ivana

‘Single’ is a very special movie in my career. I’m lucky to debut in Telugu under the Geetha Arts banner. The film is a fun ride,” says heroine Ivana.

King of Entertainment, Sri Vishnu, is all set to entertain with the wholesome entertainer Single, under the prestigious Geetha Arts banner. The film features Ketika Sharma and Ivana as the female leads, with Vennela Kishore in a key role. Directed by Karthik Raju, the film is presented by Mega Producer Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts and jointly produced by Vidya Koppineni, Bhanu Pratap, and Riyaz Chowdary under Kalya Films. The teaser, trailer, and songs released so far have created a huge buzz around the film. #Single is set to hit theaters on May 9. On this occasion, heroine Ivana shared her thoughts with the media.

How did you come on board for this project?
Director Karthik called me one day and narrated the story. I really liked it. With talents like Sri Vishnu, Vennela Kishore, Ketika, and a reputed banner like Geetha Arts, I felt it was the perfect opportunity for my Telugu debut.

Tell us about your role in this movie.
I play the character Harini, who is very jovial and pleasant. She is a dancer with deep emotional connections and strong family attachments. If she likes someone, she’s willing to go to any extent for them. I really enjoyed playing this character.

heroine-Ivana.

I made a lot of effort to learn Telugu for this film. My co-actors were very helpful. I used to try speaking in Telugu on the sets. Telugu is such a beautiful language.

Sri Vishnu speaks Telugu very fast. Initially, I couldn’t understand him, but gradually I got used to it. He was very supportive.

What kind of film is this?
It’s a fun-filled movie that everyone in the family can enjoy in theaters. It’s like a laughter ride. This is my first Telugu film, and I believe it’s going to be a great start for me. The film holds a special place in my career. I love dancing, and when I found out my character is a dancer, I was thrilled.

It’s a relatable subject. The moment I heard about my character, I was very excited. I believe the audience will feel that same excitement.

How did you feel when people called you “Bujji Kanna” at the press meet?
I felt really happy. That’s the name of my character from the movie Love Today. It brings me great joy when people remember and call me by that character name. For an actor, there’s no greater joy than being remembered by a role. I enjoy it every time someone calls me that.

How was it working with Sri Vishnu?
Sri Vishnu is a very cool person and quite silent. He comes across as a bit of an introvert, but when he’s with Kishore, he becomes hilarious. One memorable moment was when he wrote my dialogues for me. Working with Ketika Sharma was also a fun experience.

How was it working with Geetha Arts?
Geetha Arts is a very popular and prestigious production house. I feel extremely happy that my first Telugu film is with such a renowned banner.

Tell us about director Karthik.
Karthik is a Tamilian, so I used to speak Tamil with him. He made me feel very comfortable. He’s a director with a clear vision. It was really a wonderful experience working with him.

What about the film’s music?
The film has some very beautiful songs. The two songs released so far have received a great response. The rest of the songs are also going to be lovely. Music has a very special place in this film.

Any similarities between your role and real life?
Harini is a dancer, and I also love dancing. After learning that my character is a dancer, I resumed dance classes and started practicing again. I’ve learned Bharatanatyam.

Do you have a dream role or favorite genre?
Nothing specific. I’ve played roles like a sister, a lover, etc. In the future, I want to do roles that reflect real life and are relatable to everyday people.

You started your career as a child artist, right?
Yes, but I started taking films seriously only after Love Today. My priority was always to complete my education. Even now, I’m pursuing my master’s degree.
