Prominent figures from the Telugu film industry, including directors Veera Shankar (President, Directors’ Association), Anil Ravipudi, Vashishta, Gopichand Malineni, Vijay Kanakamedala, Shankar, Relangi Narasimha Rao, producer-director Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Producer Council President Damodara Prasad, producer C Kalyan, Federation President Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni, and Filmnagar Corporator Kaja Suryanarayana Rao, gathered to pay their respects to Dasari Narayana Rao.

Director’s Day Announced for May 19th

The event’s highlight was the announcement of Director’s Day, which will be held on May 19th, 2024, at 6 pm at Hyderabad’s LB Stadium. Tammareddy Bharadwaja unveiled the official poster for the event.

Remembering a Guiding Light

Directors’ Association President Veera Shankar spoke fondly of Dasari, highlighting his pivotal role in resolving issues for the association and the entire film industry. He credited the suggestion for Director’s Day to the late director Kalathapaswi K Vishwanath, who had proposed it during a previous event honoring Dasari. Shankar emphasized the efforts of young directors in making the upcoming event a success.

Tammareddy Bharadwaja expressed his desire for a grander celebration to reflect Dasari’s immense contribution to Telugu cinema. He emphasized the importance of participation from prominent directors and actors for the event’s success.

Producer Damodara Prasad shared his experience meeting Dasari and lauded his exceptional qualities, particularly his willingness to help others. He highlighted Dasari’s role in establishing associations for various film industry crafts, a legacy that continues to benefit film workers today.

Producer C Kalyan and Telangana Film Chamber Secretary Anupama Reddy echoed the sentiment, acknowledging Dasari’s lasting impact and pledging their support for the Director’s Day event. Federation President Anil Kumar Vallabhaneni expressed his condolences for Dasari’s passing and offered support from the 24 film industry trade unions.

Appreciation for Chiranjeevi’s Support

Director Shankar expressed gratitude to megastar Chiranjeevi for his past contribution of Rs. 25 lakh to the Director’s Trust during a previous Director’s Day event. He emphasized the importance of efficient event management and the directors’ collective support.

Filmnagar Corporator Kaja Suryanarayana credited Dasari’s foresight for the flourishing film industry in Filmnagar. He stated that Dasari’s presence would continue to be felt through his statue erected within the film chamber premises.

Director Relangi Narasimha Rao, who shared a close bond with Dasari, spoke about their journey together and expressed his gratitude to prominent directors for contributing to the event despite their busy schedules.
