Veteran actor, producer, entrepreneur and public leader Murali Mohan was felicitated grandly by the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) in Hyderabad in recognition of his recent conferment of the prestigious Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours.
Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar attended the event as the chief guest and lauded Murali Mohan’s remarkable contributions to cinema, business, public life and social service. Several prominent members of the real estate industry also participated in the felicitation ceremony and congratulated the veteran personality on receiving the national honour.
NAREDCO President Sridhar Reddy Koppula Praises Murali Mohan
Speaking at the event, NAREDCO President Sridhar Reddy Koppula recalled Murali Mohan’s significant role in bringing discipline and structure to the real estate sector.
He said Murali Mohan was instrumental in establishing the Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers’ Associations, which later evolved into NAREDCO and subsequently contributed to the growth of organized real estate associations such as CREDAI.
Sridhar Reddy Koppula said he joined NAREDCO in 2006 and had been entrusted with various responsibilities since 2009. He added that the association continues to follow the guidance and principles established by Murali Mohan.
He also highlighted the organization’s regular meetings and its commitment to maintaining a strong reputation for builders at the national level. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the association continued its activities, reflecting the discipline and vision instilled by Murali Mohan.
MLC Bhanu Prasad Appreciates Builders’ Contribution
MLC Bhanu Prasad said the real estate and construction sectors play a crucial role in strengthening Telangana’s economy.
He appreciated the contribution of builders and said their efforts have a significant impact on the state’s overall economic development. He also praised the organizations established by Murali Mohan for continuing to grow and contribute to the industry.
Bhanu Prasad further appreciated Murali Mohan’s punctuality, discipline and commitment, describing his energy and dedication as an inspiration to the younger generation.
Prominent builder D.S. Rao said Murali Mohan’s Padma Shri recognition was not limited to his contribution to the film industry but also acknowledged his services to art and society.
He recalled Murali Mohan’s efforts in supporting and helping numerous students throughout his life. Referring to an emotional letter written by one such student after Murali Mohan received the Padma Shri, D.S. Rao said the message deeply moved him.
He expressed happiness at being part of the felicitation ceremony and congratulated Murali Mohan on receiving the prestigious national honour.
Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar Hails Murali Mohan’s Journey
Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar said he was delighted to participate in the felicitation programme and praised NAREDCO for its contribution to the state’s development.
He noted that NAREDCO, established in 1995, has grown into a prestigious organization with around 350 builders. The organization works closely with the government in the construction sector and has emerged as an important partner in Telangana’s development.
The Speaker also highlighted NAREDCO’s annual Property Show and its various social initiatives, stating that the organization believes society’s progress is closely connected with the growth of its members.
Gaddam Prasad Kumar described Murali Mohan as a successful personality in cinema, politics and business, adding that his journey is an inspiration for anyone who wishes to achieve success through hard work, determination and discipline.
He also praised Murali Mohan’s kind-hearted nature and expressed pride that a personality from Telugu soil had been honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri.
Murali Mohan Recalls His Real Estate Journey
Expressing his gratitude, Padma Shri Murali Mohan said the felicitation organized by NAREDCO was particularly special because he considers its members to be like his own family.
Murali Mohan recalled receiving numerous congratulatory calls after the announcement of the Padma Shri and thanked everyone for organizing the special felicitation ceremony.
Speaking about his entry into the real estate sector, he revealed that he entered the business on the advice of legendary actor Shobhan Babu. He also credited his younger brother Kishore for standing by him and supporting him throughout his journey.
Murali Mohan recalled that the real estate sector was highly unorganized when he entered the field and that customers faced several difficulties, including fraudulent land transactions.
With the aim of bringing discipline and transparency to the sector, an organization was established, which eventually led to the formation of NAREDCO. He emphasized the principle that every customer should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
Murali Mohan expressed happiness that the organization continues to uphold the same spirit and hoped that its members would achieve greater success in the future.
He also expressed confidence in Hyderabad’s continued growth, saying that the city has the potential to become India’s No. 1 city. He further hoped that Amaravati, as the new capital, would develop rapidly and grow competitively alongside Hyderabad.
The grand felicitation served as a fitting tribute to Padma Shri Murali Mohan, celebrating not only his achievements in cinema but also his contributions to the real estate sector, public life and society.
