“MIRAI Will Give Goosebumps in Theatres” – Teja Sajja

Superhero Teja Sajja is all set to enthrall audiences across India with the much-awaited pan-India visual spectacle MIRAI. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, the film features Rocking Star Manchu Manoj in a powerful role and is produced on a grand scale by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kirthi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.

With the glimpses, teaser, and trailer already creating massive buzz, MIRAI is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on September 12. On this occasion, the makers held a special press meet in Chennai, where Teja Sajja shared his excitement.

Teja Sajja’s Speech at Chennai Press Meet

“Hello everyone, I am truly delighted to meet you all today. MIRAI is releasing worldwide on September 12, and I request everyone to support the film.

This is not just an action-adventure film; it has everything – fantasy, devotion, emotions, and elevation. Only a handful of films every year truly deserve to be experienced on the big screen, and MIRAI is definitely one of them.

It’s a movie to enjoy with your family, a film that will appeal to both kids and adults alike. Working with People Media Factory once again has been a pleasure – this is my second collaboration with them, and I look forward to working on many more projects together.

A huge thanks to our producer Vishwa Prasad sir for believing in us and mounting the film on such a magnificent scale. Director and DOP Karthik Ghattamaneni’s vision is the soul of this project. His storytelling style will give audiences a truly immersive experience.

Q&A with Teja Sajja

What does the title MIRAI mean?
“MIRAI means ‘Hope for the Future.’ But there’s also another deeper meaning, which audiences will discover when they watch the film. It will be a surprise.”

Why release the film in Japanese and Chinese as well?
“Indian cinema has a strong market in Japan and China. Films like HanuMan have already performed really well there. We believe MIRAI will also resonate with audiences in those countries.”

How is Lord Rama’s backdrop connected to the story?
“That comes at the right time in the film and will elevate the narrative. It will give audiences the high they expect – definitely a surprising element in the story.”

You’ve been doing many fantasy films. Why?
(Smiles) “Because there’s still a child in me! I love watching fantasy films. In real life, we can’t experience these larger-than-life events, so I try to bring them alive on screen.”

What was the biggest challenge while making a fantasy film like this?
“VFX is the biggest challenge. Indian cinema is now competing internationally, and collaborating with directors like Karthik and Prashanth is truly inspiring. MIRAI has some of the most spectacular VFX sequences that audiences will witness.”

How is MIRAI different from HanuMan?
“HanuMan was set in the fictional land of Anjanadri, whereas MIRAI is a story that goes beyond borders, across nations. The characters and treatment are very different. HanuMan gave us extraordinary success, far beyond expectations, and that paved the way for us to attempt a large-scale film like MIRAI. I’m confident audiences will love this too.”

The trailer’s action sequences looked unique. Did you undergo special training?
*“Yes, the action in this film is very different from the usual styles. We had international action masters working on it. I trained in Thailand for 20 days exclusively for these sequences.

All the stunts you see in the film are performed by me – no body doubles were used. The film was shot in breathtaking live locations including Sri Lanka, the Himalayas, and Nepal. Such a grand scale was possible only because of producer Vishwa Prasad sir’s passion.”*

When will you do a Tamil film?
“I have many good director friends in Tamil cinema. I’m waiting for the right script – and when it comes, I will definitely do a Tamil film.”
