Manamey follows a familiar path – Vikram (Sharwanand) and Shubhadra (Krithi Shetty) become caretakers of their friends’ child. The film revolves around their growing love and the child becoming part of their family.
Sharwanand shines with his performance and stylish presentation, elevating even routine scenes. Krithi Shetty is visually appealing, but the role itself offers little to remember.
The first half is breezy with good-looking visuals and some sharp jokes from Sharwanand. However, the villain and car chase sequence feel silly, resembling a low-budget video game.
The second half falters. The tedious air balloon scene, poorly written plot points, and Seerat Kapoor’s forgettable role drag things down. Even emotional scenes fall flat due to weak writing, unintentionally causing laughter. The film struggles to balance the child’s story with the romance.
Visually, Manamey impresses. Every scene is polished and stylish, thanks to the cinematography and art direction. The music, however, is forgettable despite good choreography for a couple of songs. Editing could have been tighter, especially in the slow second half.
Overall, Manamey offers a lighthearted but predictable first half with great visuals. However, the weak emotional core and tedious second half disappoint despite a strong performance by Sharwanand.
Verdict: If you’re looking for a visually appealing film with some laughs and don’t mind a predictable storyline, Manamey might be a decent one-time watch. However, if you crave strong emotional depth, this film might not deliver.
