“Kanmani Will Always Stay With Me” – Priyanka Arul Mohan on OG and Working with Pawan Kalyan
The much-awaited OG, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan, is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on September 25. Directed by Sujeeth and produced on a lavish scale by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainment, the film has already set high expectations with its glimpse and songs. Ahead of the release, lead actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, who plays the pivotal role of Kanmani, opened up about her journey, experience, and what makes this project so special.

“My journey with OG has been nearly two and a half years, and it has been unforgettable. Acting alongside Pawan Kalyan garu is a privilege, and portraying Kanmani feels like destiny. Out of all the roles I’ve done, this one will always hold a special place in my heart. Every day on set felt like a blessing—he’s a true gentleman who treats everyone with respect. How she came on board
“After the announcement, director Sujeeth narrated the story to me. I fell in love with it instantly, especially with the role of Kanmani. And then, it was a Pawan Kalyan film, directed by Sujeeth, produced by DVV Entertainment—what more could I ask for? Saying yes was the easiest decision.”
About her role as Kanmani
“The story is set in the 1980s–1990s, so everything—from styling to characterization—reflects that era. Kanmani is an innocent, pure-hearted girl who is deeply in love with Gambheera. Her presence changes his life in a very significant way.”
On the response to Suvvi Suvvi
“This is my first collaboration with Thaman garu. He composed Suvvi Suvvi as the very first track, and I couldn’t wait for audiences to hear it. Watching the love it has received after release makes me really happy. His music adds so much soul to the film.”
On Pawan Kalyan’s stardom
“His craze is beyond limits. Even back in Bangalore, I had heard about his fandom. But after working with him, I realized his popularity is even bigger than I imagined. Despite all that stardom, he remains grounded, simple, and deeply human.”

“He mostly talks about books—novels, history, and sometimes movies and politics. But more than anything, he loves talking about people, about society. His knowledge and perspective are inspiring.”

“Not at all. Yes, there’s plenty of action, but OG is also rich with emotion, relationships, and strong family drama. That balance makes it special.”
