Gaddar Awards 2024 Announced – Kalki 2898 AD and Lucky Bhasker Shine Bright

Telangana state, the government has taken a significant step to promote the Telugu film industry. In honor of the late revolutionary folk singer Gaddar, the state has announced the ‘Gaddar Telangana Film Awards’. After a 14-year gap, the government’s decision to resume film awards has brought a fresh wave of enthusiasm to the industry. These awards not only recognize actors but also acknowledge technical professionals and films made across diverse backgrounds.

Senior actress Jayasudha, who serves as the Chairperson of the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards jury committee, and Dil Raju, Chairman of the Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) and renowned producer, held a press meet to announce the awardees. The list of winners was revealed for each year from 2014 to 2023, with one Best Feature Film selected for every year. Dil Raju noted the significance of restarting the film awards after such a long break.

A total of 1,248 nominations were received for the Gaddar Awards. Among them, 1,172 were in individual categories, and 76 were from other segments like feature films, documentaries, and film criticism. The jury carefully reviewed all entries before finalizing the winners. For the year 2024, the award for Best Feature Film went to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas. ‘Pottel’ and ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ followed in the runner-up positions.

These awards go beyond just recognizing outstanding films. Special awards will also be given to actors, technicians, and films that promote national integration, children’s films, and movies focusing on Telangana’s heritage, environment, and history.

After a 14-year hiatus, prestigious movie awards have made a grand return to Telangana. This time, they come under a new banner — the GADDAR TELANGANA FILM AWARDS, named in honor of the legendary revolutionary poet Gaddar. The 2024 winners were officially announced today, with veteran actress Jayasudha heading the jury. The event was graced by notable personalities, including FDC Chairman Dil Raju and jury member Jeevitha Rajasekhar.
