Devi Sri Prasad Makes His Acting Debut With Pan-India Film Yellamma

Devi Sri Prasad Makes His Acting Debut With Pan-India Film Yellamma, Directed by Balagam Venu Yeldandi

Star producer Dil Raju, celebrated for his keen instinct in backing compelling stories, proudly presents Yellamma, the most ambitious project yet from Balagam fame director Venu Yeldandi. After earning nationwide recognition and a National Award for his debut, Venu returns with a powerful and spiritually charged narrative that promises a deeply immersive cinematic experience. The film is produced by Shirish under the prestigious Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.

Adding to the massive buzz, Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, one of Indian cinema’s most iconic and successful music composers, is all set to make his long-awaited debut as a lead actor. Having ruled the music charts for decades with countless blockbusters, DSP now steps in front of the camera, choosing a subject that perfectly resonates with his creative energy and artistic sensibilities. Apart from portraying the protagonist, DSP is also composing the music, making Yellamma a true extension of his multifaceted talent.

Set against the backdrop of divine power, Yellamma draws heavily from native traditions, folklore, and deep-rooted cultural beliefs. On the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranthi, the makers unveiled the first glimpse, offering a striking introduction to the film’s mystical world and emotional intensity.

The glimpse opens with a lone neem leaf caught in a swirling vortex before shooting skyward. A goat watches in quiet intensity as the atmosphere turns ominous. Moments later, a man charges forward with ankle bells echoing, while another rushes from the opposite direction in rugged footwear. As the neem leaf ascends above the clouds, it transforms into the divine presence of the Mother Goddess. Torrential rain lashes the earth, prompting the drenched goat to shake itself in a sudden, instinctive flutter.

Amid the raging storm, beside a tree with a sickle resting against its trunk, a shirtless man straps a drum around his waist and settles onto a rock. The drifting neem leaf glides behind him and lands softly. As he turns around, Devi Sri Prasad is revealed in full glory as Parshi, marking a powerful and arresting introduction.

The glimpse strongly promises a story rooted in spirituality, tradition, and raw emotion, with DSP delivering an intense and transformative acting debut. Sporting long hair and a rugged makeover, he embodies the character with remarkable authenticity. The symbolic use of neem, turmeric, and vermillion infuses a divine aura, while DSP’s electrifying background score elevates the visuals to another level.
