Anupama as Sulochana Rani Ignites Buzz in Sharwa–Sampath Nandi’s Bhogi
Riding high on mounting anticipation, Charming Star Sharwa is set to reinvent himself with Bhogi, an ambitious pan-India period action drama that marks his maiden collaboration with Mass Maverick Sampath Nandi. Backed by producer KK Radhamohan under the prestigious Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner and presented by Lakshmi Radhamohan, the film is shaping up to be one of the most масштабные and daring ventures in Sharwa’s career.
The excitement surrounding Bhogi has been steadily building, with the makers already unveiling a striking first-look poster followed by a powerful birthday special poster of Sharwa. Both glimpses received an overwhelming response, drawing praise for their raw intensity and the film’s grand visual scale.
Adding to the intrigue, the team has now introduced Anupama Parameswaran’s character, Kandula Sulochana Rani, through a captivating first-look poster. Anupama appears in a deglamorized, rustic village avatar, walking barefoot along a dusty rural path. Balancing a large woven basket filled with green leaves on her head, while holding more leaves in one hand and a tiffin box in the other, she perfectly embodies the life of a hardworking rural woman. Dressed in an earthy half-saree paired with a faded blouse, her traditional styling and intense, determined expression hint at a deeply layered and resilient character. The backdrop, filled with mud houses, wooden fences, and cattle, further enhances the authenticity of the setting.
Sulochana is portrayed as a spirited woman deeply connected to nature. She earns her livelihood by crafting leaf plates from Moduga leaves—famously known as the “Flame of the Forest.” Through this, her character symbolizes resilience, quiet strength, and an unbreakable bond with her roots. More than just a presence in the narrative, Sulochana emerges as the emotional core of the story—an elemental force that anchors the storm named Ganga.
Demonstrating remarkable dedication, Anupama has reportedly immersed herself completely into the role, mastering the regional dialect, diction, and the subtle emotional layers that bring authenticity to Sulochana’s world.
On the production front, Bhogi has already completed major shooting schedules, including high-octane action sequences filmed across Rajamahendravaram and the forest regions of Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli. The team is now gearing up for its next extensive schedule, set to begin in and around Hyderabad from the first week of May.
The film also features Dimple Hayathi as the other female lead. Set in the early 1960s, Bhogi unfolds as a gripping period action drama in a fictional village located along the borders of Telangana and Maharashtra.
Technically, the film boasts a strong crew elevating its cinematic scale. Art direction is helmed by Kiran Kumar Manne, while cinematographer Kishore Kumar Arokia brings the story’s world to life through striking visuals. Adding emotional depth and intensity is the music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.
Positioned as a major pan-India entertainer, Bhogi is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 28th in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, perfectly aligning with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
