Deewana’s Interval Twist Will Leave Audiences Stunned- Harshith Reddy
“Deewana Is the Story of a Young Man Completely Immersed in Love; the Interval Twist Will Shock Audiences with a Fresh New Point” – Hero Harshith Reddy
Young actor Harshith Reddy, who recently won appreciation for his performance in Subham, is all set to entertain audiences with his upcoming romantic drama Deewana. Produced by Vasudev Koppineni and Sridevi Karyampudi under the Arha Media and V Studios banners, the film marks the debut of actress Snehha Manimegalai and director Srikanth Sangishetty. Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on the 19th of this month through Geetha Film Distributors, Deewana is generating strong curiosity among movie lovers.
In a recent interaction with the media, Harshith Reddy opened up about his journey, his character, and what makes Deewana special.
From Social Media Creator to Silver Screen Actor
“My father is from Miryalaguda, but I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. I completed my education here and understand the city’s culture and lifestyle very well. Before entering films, I used to create content for YouTube and Instagram. The team at Vyjayanthi Movies noticed my videos and selected me for Mail. Since it was during the COVID pandemic, the audition happened online. We stayed in a boys’ hostel in Mahabubabad and completed the entire shoot in a single schedule spanning nearly two months.
The dialogue ‘B.Com Computers’ from Mail became very popular and unexpectedly opened new doors for me. Raj & DK noticed my performance and later cast me in Subham. Everything happened as if destiny had planned it. For Kalki, director Nag Ashwin garu selected me without an audition. When I asked him why, he said they wanted someone whose face naturally evoked sympathy, and he felt I was the right choice. Opportunities started coming my way while I was still pursuing my B.Tech. I have also acted in two web series.”

How Deewana Happened
“I received the offer for Deewana even before Subham was released. Through my earlier projects like Mail and Taragathi Gadi on Aha, I became familiar with producers Vasu garu and Sridevi garu. After listening to the script, I introduced the director to them. They loved the story and immediately decided to produce it.
We assembled a passionate and talented team. Later, Allu Aravind garu watched the film and liked it immensely. He came forward to support us and agreed to release it through Geetha Distribution.”
Workshops Shaped the Film
“For every schedule, we spent an incredible amount of time preparing. For every three days of shooting, we dedicated nearly ten days to workshops. The director was extremely particular about every scene and every dialogue. That rigorous preparation helped us perform better and eliminated the need for reshoots.
The more we discussed our characters, the more natural and effective our performances became. We also improvised several moments on set. The entire film was shot in real locations, and many of the crowds seen in the film are actual people who gathered during the shoot.”
Becoming Munna
“My character’s name is Munna, and he carries the vibe of an Old City Hyderabad youngster. During auditions, I closely observed many authentic Hyderabadi boys. I have personally spent time in areas like Malakpet and Kothapet, which helped me understand the mannerisms and slang. It also helped that our director himself is from Secunderabad.
Most of the roles I played previously were soft and innocent. Munna is completely different, so it took some time to get into his mindset. The director wanted the character to have a Rangila-era Aamir Khan energy. During one schedule, I performed a scene with the dialogue ‘Avunra, Chillaragannera.’ That scene helped me discover the rhythm and attitude of Munna. From that point onwards, I kept evolving the character throughout the film.”
Not Arjun Reddy, But a Genuine Hyderabad Boy
“Some viewers felt Munna resembles Arjun Reddy, especially after the release of the dialogue ‘Naa Pillara.’ But that’s simply the way many youngsters in Hyderabad speak. After Arjun Reddy, audiences became familiar with that style of dialogue delivery, so comparisons are natural.
Whether the girl in the story loves Munna, teases him, or rejects him is something audiences must experience on the big screen.”
A Love Story with a Surprising Twist
“Deewana is the story of a young man who is completely immersed in love. Audiences have watched many love stories over the years, but this film introduces a fresh emotional point. The interval sequence built around that idea will genuinely shock viewers.
For a few moments, audiences will be left stunned by what unfolds. We have intentionally kept that aspect hidden from both the teaser and the trailer. At some point in life, everyone becomes a ‘Deewana’ for someone or something. Even our director is a Deewana when it comes to love.”
Praise from Allu Aravind
“Allu Aravind garu loved the film. He personally called me and appreciated a few scenes, saying I had performed them very well. Receiving such praise from someone of his stature was a wonderful and memorable experience.”

Inspired by Many Stars, Yet Finding His Own Identity
“I have grown up watching actors like Megastar Chiranjeevi garu, Vijay Deverakonda, Nani, and Allu Arjun. Their performances may have influenced me subconsciously. However, when audiences watch Deewana, they will not be reminded of Arjun Reddy. Any similarities people noticed are mainly because Munna is a Hyderabadi youngster with an aggressive personality.
Whenever the director narrated a scene, I tried to add my own touch and make it feel lively and natural. Even the actors who played my friends in the film are local Hyderabad boys. In many ways, Deewana is a film created by a true Hyderabad and Old City gang.”
Looking Ahead
“Since Mail, I have treated every opportunity as precious and have always given my hundred percent effort. Currently, I am working on Kalki 2 and another film titled Romeo Juliet. I am excited about the journey ahead and hope audiences connect with Deewana in a big way.”
