SV Krishna Reddy’s 75th Birthday Celebrated Grandly; Receives World Record Honor
Veteran filmmaker SV Krishna Reddy, one of Telugu cinema’s most celebrated directors known for delivering timeless family entertainers, celebrated his 75th birthday in grand style at the Film Nagar Cultural Center in Hyderabad. The occasion became even more special as the making video of his upcoming 43rd directorial venture, Vedavyas, was unveiled in the presence of several prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry.
A major highlight of the event was SV Krishna Reddy receiving a prestigious World Record recognition from Telugu Book of Records International for the remarkable feat of composing music for 38 films that he himself directed. The honor added another milestone to the illustrious career of the filmmaker, who has consistently entertained audiences across generations with his unique blend of family drama, comedy, music, and meaningful storytelling.
Presented by renowned producer Achchi Reddy and produced by Kommuri Pratap Reddy under the Sai Pragati Films banner, Vedavyas marks the debut of Pidugu Vishwanath as a hero. The film also introduces Korean actress Joon Hyun Ji and Mongolian actor Sharan Bold Segment to Telugu cinema. Having completed shooting, the film is currently in post-production.
Speaking at the event, producer Kommuri Pratap Reddy described SV Krishna Reddy as not only a legendary director but also an exceptional human being whose films have entertained audiences while delivering valuable social messages. He revealed that the concept of Vedavyas was developed to showcase the greatness of the Vedas and the scientific wisdom embedded within them, and expressed confidence that the film would resonate strongly with audiences.
Several distinguished guests paid tribute to the filmmaker and his contributions to Telugu cinema. Senior actor Murali Mohan called the celebrations a festival-like occasion and wished SV Krishna Reddy many more years of creative success. Producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao praised the director for bringing immense recognition to the industry through his memorable films.
Veteran director Relangi Narasimha Rao compared the successful partnership of SV Krishna Reddy and Achchi Reddy to the legendary duo of Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani, noting that Krishna Reddy’s films created a golden era of family entertainment. Producer Damodara Prasad highlighted the director’s unwavering belief in strong content, citing the blockbuster success of Yamaleela as a classic example.
Actress Laya fondly recalled her experience working with SV Krishna Reddy and said he enjoys a dedicated fan following not only for his films but also for his music. Actor Srikanth, who worked in several films directed by him, expressed happiness at being part of the celebrations and wished success for Vedavyas.
Actor J.D. Chakravarthy praised SV Krishna Reddy’s exceptional storytelling skills, while actor Ali described him as a filmmaker who treats everyone equally and credited him for maintaining strong relationships throughout his career. Actor Shivaji Raja highlighted the director’s clean and family-friendly storytelling, emphasizing that the characters he created continue to be remembered even today.
Debut hero Pidugu Vishwanath expressed his gratitude for being launched by such a legendary filmmaker and called it one of the greatest opportunities of his career.

Producer Achchi Reddy reflected on their remarkable journey together spanning 43 films and acknowledged the support of countless actors, technicians, producers, and friends who contributed to their success. He credited producer Kommuri Pratap Reddy for providing the encouragement and confidence needed to bring Vedavyas to life and revealed that the team had spent nearly five years developing the script. He also praised the contributions of renowned writers, technicians, and the extensive CG team involved in the project.
With the launch of the making video and the overwhelming support from the film fraternity, Vedavyas has generated significant curiosity.
