Pawan Kalyan Hopes ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ Recreates the Magic of ‘Gabbar Singh’
After the massive success of Gabbar Singh, Power Star Pawan Kalyan has reunited with director Harish Shankar for the much-awaited mass entertainer Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers.
The film features Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna as the female leads. Music is composed by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad, while the background score is provided by S. Thaman.
With the songs, teaser, and trailer already creating a strong buzz among fans, expectations for the film have skyrocketed. Ustaad Bhagat Singh is all set for a grand theatrical release on March 19, coinciding with the festive occasion of Ugadi.
Ahead of the release, the makers organized a grand pre-release event at Police Grounds in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with thousands of enthusiastic fans gathering to celebrate their favorite star.
Pawan Kalyan’s Speech
Addressing the massive crowd, Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep love for cinema and gratitude towards fans.
He said cinema played a crucial role in shaping his life and career, giving him recognition and the opportunity to serve people today. The actor-politician emphasized that he always wishes his producers to prosper and his fans to leave theatres satisfied with his films.
Pawan Kalyan added that he never focuses on box-office numbers but instead hopes every film he acts in turns out to be a good film that audiences enjoy.
He also expressed pride in the growth of Indian cinema, particularly the achievements of Telugu cinema on the global stage.
Speaking about his family, he said that for him there is only one true hero — his brother, Chiranjeevi. He shared that he felt extremely happy after Chiranjeevi watched the film’s trailer and praised it on social media, also thanking Ram Charan for his supportive message.
Reflecting on the journey of the film, Pawan Kalyan revealed that the team initially planned a different story but later made several changes. The pandemic and his political responsibilities also caused delays. Despite these challenges, the team managed to complete the film within 40–45 days of shooting, thanks to the efficient planning by director Harish Shankar.
He praised the producers of Mythri Movie Makers for consistently delivering blockbuster films like Pushpa: The Rise, Janatha Garage, and Srimanthudu.
Pawan Kalyan also appreciated the entire technical team, including lyricists, stunt masters, choreographers, writers, cinematographer Ayananka Bose, editor Karthik Srinivas, and art director Anand Sai.
Speaking about the cast, he praised Sreeleela for her dancing skills and performance, stating that the role would become memorable in her career. He also thanked Raashii Khanna for joining the project and appreciated actors R. Parthiban and K. S. Ravikumar for their roles in the film.
Pawan Kalyan credited Harish Shankar for shaping the film perfectly for the fans.
“Harish Shankar is a director who truly understands fans. He made this film with immense passion. I hope Ustaad Bhagat Singh becomes as big a success as Gabbar Singh,” he said.
He concluded by thanking the Telangana government and police department for permitting the event and wished fans a happy Ugadi and Ramadan.

Director Harish Shankar spoke about the long journey of the film and the reasons behind the delay. He revealed that the film initially had a different storyline set in a college backdrop but was later reworked into its current form.
He expressed gratitude to the producers for standing by him throughout the process and providing full support to realize the film on a grand scale.
Harish Shankar praised Devi Sri Prasad for delivering energetic music and appreciated Thaman for the powerful background score. He also highlighted that a massive set was constructed for the song “Collar Ey Etthara,” making it one of the biggest sets ever built by Mythri Movie Makers. Harish emotionally recalled how Pawan Kalyan supported him during difficult times, especially during the pandemic, encouraging him to move forward with the film.
“On screen the hero is Pawan Kalyan, but behind the screen he is also the biggest support for the team,” he said.
He concluded by inviting audiences to celebrate “Ustaad Ugadi” in theatres on March 19.

Actress Sreeleela expressed gratitude to the makers for giving her the opportunity to be part of the film. She said working with Harish Shankar helped her learn a lot about dedication and sincerity.
Talking about Pawan Kalyan, she described him as not only a Power Star but also a “People’s Star”, stating that his influence extends beyond cinema.
She said she learned positivity, awareness about society, and love for nature from him and called him a true inspiration.
Raashii Khanna’s Speech
Raashii Khanna shared that acting alongside Pawan Kalyan had been her dream since the beginning of her career.
She thanked Harish Shankar for giving her the opportunity and praised Pawan Kalyan for his simplicity and concern for people.
She also appreciated the director’s hard work and expressed confidence that the film would recreate the magic of Gabbar Singh.

Producer Naveen Yerneni revealed that producing a film with Pawan Kalyan had been a long-cherished dream since their early days in the industry.
Producer Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar said the team was extremely confident about the film after watching the final output and described it as a complete commercial entertainer from start to finish.
