Jagapathi Babu’s Fierce New Avatar as Appalasoori Unveiled in Ram Charan’s Peddi
Mega Power Star Ram Charan is currently busy shooting for his highly anticipated rural action entertainer Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas and is presented by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings. Backed by a lavish budget and grand production values, Peddi promises a powerful, larger-than-life cinematic experience on the big screen.
Bollywood sensation Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead opposite Ram Charan. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma in key roles, adding immense depth and star power to the narrative.
The makers have now unveiled the striking first-look poster of Jagapathi Babu as Appalasoori, introducing the veteran actor in a truly never-seen-before avatar. Sporting messy, unkempt salt-and-pepper hair and a thick grey beard, Jagapathi Babu looks raw, intense, and perfectly in sync with the film’s rustic backdrop. His broken glasses, tied together with a thread, further amplify the ruggedness of the character. The stern expression on his face leaves a lasting impression, hinting at the emotional weight and complexity Appalasoori is set to bring to the story.
Adding further strength to the cast, senior actor Boman Irani—known for being extremely selective with his roles—has joined the project in a pivotal character and has already begun shooting. True to director Buchi Babu Sana’s vision, every character in Peddi plays a crucial role in driving the narrative forward, with Boman Irani’s role expected to be a major highlight.
Peddi has already generated massive buzz with its powerful first-look posters, the First Shot glimpse, and the first single “Chikiri Chikiri.” The song turned into a chartbuster upon release, emerging as one of the biggest musical sensations in recent times and further raising expectations for the film.
On the technical front, Peddi boasts a world-class crew. Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman is composing the music, while acclaimed cinematographer R. Rathnavelu is handling the visuals. National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli is in charge of editing, and Avinash Kolla is bringing the film’s rich and immersive world to life with his detailed production design.
Peddi is gearing up for a grand pan-India theatrical release on March 27, 2026, and is already being touted as one of the biggest and most awaited cinematic events of the year.
