“Gurram Paapireddy Is a Complete Entertainer With a Fresh Dark Comedy Twist” – Faria Abdullah

Starring Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles, Gurram Paapireddy is being presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli and produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby). Directed by Murali Manohar, the film promises a refreshing dark comedy with a concept rarely explored on screen. The movie is slated for a grand worldwide theatrical release on the 19th of this month. Speaking at a media interaction today, heroine Faria Abdullah shared interesting insights about the film and her role.

Faria revealed that she plays a character named Soudhamini, a nurse who dreams of becoming a doctor. “At a crucial point in her life, she encounters Gurram Paapireddy, and from then on, everything changes. Along with his gang, Soudhamini is forced into a robbery. The film smartly showcases the clash between intelligent people and those who aren’t so sharp. Whether my character belongs to the intelligent group or not is something the audience must watch on screen,” she said.

Talking about the film’s entertaining elements, Faria highlighted Brahmanandam’s role as a judge. “We appear before him in court scenes wearing different disguises, which turned out to be extremely hilarious. Comedy has always been my comfort zone, and I enjoy doing entertaining films. That said, I’m also keen on exploring intense roles. I’ll be seen in a completely different avatar as a village girl in Bhagavanthudu, an intense film whose shoot is currently on hold.”

Faria also spoke about her varied looks in Gurram Paapireddy. “I appear in several different getups in this film. Since we shot during peak summer, the makeup process was time-consuming, but such opportunities don’t come often for actors. My character Soudhamini is very different from Chitti in Jathi Ratnalu. Chitti is innocent, while Soudhamini is smart and sharp.”

Revealing her interest in direction, Faria said, “I aspire to become a director someday. Whenever I got free time on set, I used to think about new concepts and scripts. Naresh Agastya, who is also a writer, encouraged me and supported me during this creative process.”

Appreciating the producers, she added, “Though they are new, the producers made this film with immense passion. They took great care of the cast and crew and are promoting the film extensively. I’ve also done a special promotional song for this movie. Music director Krishna Saurabh has delivered excellent songs and background score. He’s a very passionate technician.”

Faria shared her experience working with the cast and crew, saying, “I don’t have combination scenes with Brahmanandam garu, but I worked with Yogi Babu in an important action sequence. Working with Naresh Agastya was a pleasant experience—he’s a wonderful co-actor. From the moment I heard the script, I could visualize the fun and entertainment, and director Murali Manohar has brought it to life brilliantly. His international exposure and passion for cinema truly reflect on screen.”

Expressing confidence in the film, Faria concluded, “The audience will definitely enjoy Gurram Paapireddy. We are watching the premieres today, and I’m excited to hear the response. Mathu Vadalara 3 is currently in the discussion stage, and I’m also part of a Tamil film with Sandeep Kishan, slated for release next year. Additionally, I’m playing a key role in Gayapadda Simham, which has a very strong script. I’m also planning to do private music albums.”

On her career choices, she said, “I want to explore all genres, including dark and action-oriented roles—even serial killer characters. Heroines need not be limited to glamorous roles alone. I don’t regret not getting similar roles after Jathi Ratnalu. Once I finish a film, I move on mentally, and I consider that mindset a blessing.”
