Ankith Koyya and Nilakhi Patra (making her Telugu debut) team up as the lead pair in Beauty, directed by Vardhan and presented by Maruthi. The film hit theaters today, and here’s our detailed review.

Story
Alekhya (Nilakhi Patra), a pampered college student, is doted on by her father Narayana (Naresh), a hardworking cab driver who fulfills her wishes, including buying her a scooter. Life takes a turn when she meets Arjun (Ankith Koyya), a stranger who sweeps her off her feet. Their love blossoms, but when Alekhya’s mother (Vasuki) learns about the affair, Alekhya elopes with Arjun to Hyderabad out of fear. Narayana soon sets out in search of his daughter, leading to an unexpected twist. What happens to the young couple? Does Narayana succeed in finding them? And does the story conclude on a hopeful note? These questions form the crux of the film.

Performances
Ankith Koyya delivers an average act, while Nilakhi Patra’s hyperactive portrayal becomes irritating at times. Their chemistry lacks depth, and many of their interactions fail to engage.

Naresh’s Performance: The veteran actor is the emotional anchor of the film. His portrayal of a doting father feels heartfelt and relatable, especially for parents with daughters.

Supporting Cast: Vasuki fits neatly into her role as a middle-class mother, even though her screen time is limited.

Second-Half Twist: A perspective-shifting twist in the latter half adds intrigue, though it comes too late to create a strong impact.

Despite a theme that resonates with today’s generation and their parents, the film falters in its narration. The first half is bogged down by unnecessary scenes, awkwardly written dialogues, and over-the-top performances.

Unrealistic Situations: The characters often behave unnaturally, particularly in the second half before the twist, where events feel more like a casual outing than a serious love

Childish love tracks, redundant sequences, and forced comedy (including Prasad Behra’s wasted character) test patience rather than entertain.

Technical Aspects
Director Vardhan’s attempt at presenting a relatable father-daughter love conflict misses the mark due to poor screenplay and lackluster direction. Shrie Sai Kumaar Daara’s cinematography is functional but forgettable, while the editing drags the pacing, especially in the first half. Vijay Bulganin’s music is strictly average; the songs barely register, and the background score fails to enhance key moments. Production values are decent but offer nothing memorable.

Verdict
Beauty is a classic example of a film with potential that gets lost in flawed execution. Apart from Naresh’s genuine performance and a mildly engaging twist in the second half, the movie struggles to connect with audiences. The uneven acting, repetitive scenes, and lack of emotional depth make it a dull and tedious watch. Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the cast, this one is best skipped in favor of more engaging weekend options.
