“Usurae” Will Touch Everyone’s Hearts with Its Realistic Love Story: Senior Actress Raasi
Films based on true incidents and real-life societal stories often strike a chord with audiences. “Usurae” is one such upcoming film — a rural love story inspired by actual events. Slated for release on August 1, the film is expected to resonate deeply with viewers. Starring TJ Arunassalam and Janani Kunaseelan in the lead roles, “Usurae” is directed by Naveen D. Gopal. The film is produced by Mouli M. Radhakrishna under the banner Bakya Lakshmi Talkies, and presented by Srikrishna Productions. Post-production has reached its final stage, and the makers have confirmed the release date.
Veteran actress Raasi plays a pivotal role in the film. The recently released trailer has already received a positive response. On Tuesday, the team launched the audio of the film at a grand event held in Hyderabad.
Director Naveen D. Gopal Speaks
“The producer never compromised on the making of this film. I have immense faith in him. Recently, I had the opportunity to show the trailer to legendary actor Kamal Haasan in Chennai, and he really liked it. He appreciated the trailer and predicted that the film would be successful. We consider this a great honor and a lucky sign. We’ve cast actors perfectly suited for their roles. The entire film was shot in a village near Chittoor, and it gives off the feeling of a pure Telugu film. We captured the story with complete authenticity.”
Producer Mouli M. Radhakrishna on the Film’s Vision
“Director Naveen is my cousin. Around twelve years ago, he told me he wanted to make a short film. Today, we’ve made a full-fledged movie based on a real-life incident. It addresses a burning social issue that is still relevant in today’s world. ‘Usurae’ is a love story that will touch the hearts of everyone who watches it.
Raasi garu plays the role of the heroine’s mother and fits the character perfectly. Her performance, especially in the role of Anasuya, will be one of the highlights of the film. It’s a powerful character.
Several celebrities like Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vijay Sethupathi, and Shruti Haasan extended their support to this project. Despite working with a relatively new team, we made no compromises on the film’s quality or budget. I truly believe audiences will connect with it.”
Actress Raasi on Her Unique Role
“You’ve already seen glimpses of my character in the trailer. In this film, I’ve slapped the hero and the heroine! In the film Preyasi Raave, I slapped actor Srikanth, and that movie was a blockbuster. I have this sentiment — if I slap someone on screen, the movie becomes a hit! So by that sentiment, ‘Usurae’ should also be a hit.
The film is based on real events. Director Naveen brought a clear vision to the story, and the content is strong. Producer Mouli made the film with great richness and production value.
Janani, who plays my daughter, has a bright future as a heroine — she’s very talented. The hero TJ Arunassalam has also portrayed his role very naturally. The movie includes an unexpected twist that will shock everyone. People will be surprised by my character. Everyone in the team has put in their heart and soul, and I truly believe ‘Usurae’ will be a grand success.”
Actors Janani, TJ Arunassalam, and music director Kiran Jose also attended the event and shared their excitement about the film.
