Mad Square Cast Opens Up About the Film
As part of the promotions, the Mad Gang—Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, and Ram Nithin—shared exciting insights about the movie in an exclusive media interaction.
Your on-screen chemistry is fantastic. Will you collaborate on other films?
Ram Nithin: Mad is very special to us. We feel that its uniqueness should remain exclusive to this franchise. Sangeeth Shobhan: We haven’t thought about it yet, but let’s see what the future holds!
Who is the main hero of Mad Square?
Comedy itself is the main hero of the film. It drives the entire narrative of Mad Square.
How much more madness can we expect from Mad Square?
Ram Nithin: Compared to Mad, Mad Square is even more hilarious. This time, Ashok (Narne Nithin) and Manoj (Ram Nithin) will bring even more comic energy to the screen. We are confident that the audience will love the humor.
Did you prepare differently for this sequel?
Ram Nithin: Mad was my debut film, and I was a bit nervous about audience reception. With Mad Square, we are much more confident, and that has enhanced our performances. Narne Nithin: In Mad, my character started off serious and gradually turned comedic. But in Mad Square, I am entirely in a comedy role, so I adapted accordingly. Sangeeth Shobhan: With the confidence we gained from Mad, we enjoyed filming Mad Square even more. There was no pressure, just a commitment to making people laugh.
How did you feel when the sequel was announced?
Ram Nithin: We were thrilled! During Mad’s shoot, we felt sad about the team disbanding after the film wrapped. But after its grand success, the sequel was announced quickly, which made us incredibly happy.
Producer Naga Vamsi mentioned that Mad Square has no storyline. What’s your take on that?
Narne Nithin: Movies like Baahubali and RRR need a strong storyline. Mad Square is purely designed to entertain. That’s why Naga Vamsi clarified that it’s all about fun and not about a complex plot. Sangeeth Shobhan: Setting audience expectations beforehand is important. Since Mad Square is all about comedy, viewers should come prepared to enjoy a laughter ride.
How crucial is Naga Vamsi’s role in this franchise?
Ram Nithin: His contribution is invaluable. He thinks about the film 24/7. The fact that he cast me in Mad based on a web series performance shows his keen eye for talent. He also gives the director and actors complete creative freedom.
Are there female leads in Mad Square?
Narne Nithin: The female characters from the first film continue to exist in our on-screen lives, but they do not appear in Mad Square.
How will Mad Square stand out?
Sangeeth Shobhan: The strength of Mad was its comedy, and we have taken that to the next level in Mad Square. The humor will feel fresh and unique.
Is Mad Square family-friendly?
Sangeeth Shobhan: People had similar concerns with Mad, but it was well-received by family audiences. Mad Square is also a clean comedy with entertaining sequences, especially the wedding sequence, which will be a major highlight.
What can we expect from the character Laddu?
Sangeeth Shobhan: Laddu’s character will be even funnier in Mad Square. The three of us will have a blast teasing him throughout the film.
Narne Nithin, does your brother-in-law Jr. NTR give you acting advice?
Narne Nithin: Yes, he has been giving me valuable advice since my debut, and I continue to learn from him.
Do you see Mad continuing as a franchise?
We would love for it to continue, but after a break. Rushing into it wouldn’t be ideal.
With a promise of double the fun and entertainment, Mad Square is all set to tickle audiences’ funny bones when it releases on March 28. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated comedy extravaganza!
