“Adiparvam” Offers a Fresh Experience to the Audience – Director Sanjeev Megoti
The film “Adiparvam,” presented by Ravula Venkateshwar Rao under the Anvika Arts banner in collaboration with AI Entertainments, is set to captivate audiences with a unique period love story steeped in powerful visuals and a divine theme. The movie, directed by Sanjeev Megoti, stars Manchu Lakshmi, Esther, and Shiva Kanthamaneni in lead roles, with Aditya Om playing a pivotal character. Against the backdrop of Erragudi, the film centers on the divine mother and is crafted with high-quality graphics. “Adiparvam” is scheduled for a grand theatrical release worldwide on the 8th of this month, aiming to entertain viewers in over 500 theaters. In a recent interview, director Sanjeev Megoti shared insights into the film’s highlights.
– Background and Inspiration: “From a young age, I had an interest in writing and music. My father was a government employee, and I was exposed to classical dramas and would play the pedal harmonium at home. This early exposure to music and writing proved useful in my career in the film industry,” Megoti shared.
– Industry Journey: “My journey in the industry began in 1994 when I joined Madhu Film Institute. I was classmates with actors like Srikanth and director Vinayak, with whom I have great memories. I produced a film at the age of 21 and even collaborated with actor Ravi Teja after watching the film ‘Sindhooram’ in 1997. Since then, I’ve been involved in music for 14 films and directed over 10 films across Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. I’ve also written scripts for 42 TV serials and acted in several productions, evolving as an actor, producer, director, lyricist, and music director,” he added.
– “Adiparvam” as a Comeback: “You could consider ‘Adiparvam’ as my comeback film. We’re releasing it not just in Telugu, but also in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on the 8th of this month. Set against the Erragudi region of Rayalaseema, this film is inspired by real events from 1974-1990, when idols were destroyed for treasure. With a fictional twist, we present these incidents. This film is reminiscent of works like ‘Ammoru’ and ‘Arundhati,’ with a strong emphasis on graphics. We spent 11 months just on CGI, ensuring quality within our budget. The entire film took a year and a half to complete,” said Megoti.
– Casting and Performances: “Manchu Lakshmi plays a key role in ‘Adiparvam’ with both positive and negative shades. She’s adept at action and fit the role perfectly. Lakshmi was incredibly supportive during filming. Aditya Om has a significant role, while Esther delivers a performance-oriented character. Malayalam actress Srijita Ghosh and Suhasini of ‘Chantigadu’ fame also play important roles. This film doesn’t have traditional heroes and heroines; every character is integral to the storyline.”
– Audience Expectations: “We’re bringing ‘Adiparvam’ to theaters to offer a fresh experience. Viewers will see Manchu Lakshmi and others in new light. We’ve secured a good release in Kannada without much promotion, as I have a good reputation there. In Telugu, we’re thrilled that distributors have shown interest in every area, which is rare for small films. The distribution interest is a success indicator for us. We’ve also locked an OTT platform and will announce the details soon,” Megoti concluded.
“Adiparvam” promises to be a film that blends cultural heritage with innovative storytelling, reaching audiences across multiple languages and platforms.
