Story:
Gowardhan(Vijay Deverakonda) is a man who took responsibility of each and everyone in his joint family with many children, elder brothers and their wives with a sweetheart grandma. He denies to get married until he finds the girl who’s willing to marry him accepts his family as it is. One day, Indu(Mrunal) shifts into Govardhan’s pent house. Since day one she tries to mingle with Govardhan’s family and this leads to many suspicions to Govardhan and his family. What happened from there forms the story, why did Indu shift to Govardhan’s house even when she was denied house initially?
Positives:
Movie making is good. All the technical elements are up to the par. The entire cast is best at whatever they were taken for.
Every middle class man who’s responsible for the big joint family will connect and feel great about himself with the heroine’s speech about “common man is superman”
Negatives:
Except the ending speech by heroine about the greatness of the common man being a super hero for his own family, exceeding any limitation, there is no substantial point in ‘The Family Star’.
The film is so boring and routine, within a second of heroine entrance, it felt like ‘why did you even have to make a movie like this’.
Little to no surprise elements, but the characters reactions are in contrast with always surprised at whatever hero does.
It feels like Vijay Devarakonda wants to prove something to people(audience), like he wants to be a mass hero with people’s blind following, he is not showing any real acting skills. His action is just forgettable along with the whole movie.
Mrunal Thakur has performed as per her role within the limits. Divyansha Kuashik wasted her appearance with no weight in her role.

The promotional songs and the songs included are good.
Verdict:
If you can tolerate a movie that’s main aim is to make Vijay Deverakonda a mass and class, commercial Telugu hero, Family Star could be a one time watch. There were movies that were about hero overcoming the middle class man struggles by Chiranjeevi and Shobhan Babu, which were far more better than this. At some point, the movie gets into confusion whether this a family movie or a love story. One should be able to have nothing exciting to spend their time to watch this boring and routine movie.
Almost every Telugu movie is trying to prove common man is superman. We get it! But, what’s new are you showing is what matters. Movies are made investing lot of money by producers and movie goers. It’s not ideal to waste such valuable money on movies like this.
