Vijay Deverakonda Opens Up About Early Struggles and Market Value
Actor Vijay Deverakonda offered candid insights into his film industry journey at a recent promotional event for his upcoming film ‘Family Star.’ Deverakonda revealed that despite achieving stardom, his remuneration initially did not reflect his popularity.
‘As an outsider coming into the industry, the initial focus should be on honing your craft and delivering strong performances,’ Devarakonda stated. He acknowledged that financial rewards were not always immediate, ‘Honestly, I was getting paid peanuts until ‘Kushi.”
Deverakonda’s film ‘Kushi,’ co-starring Samantha, appears to have been a turning point in his career. ‘It was only after ‘Kushi’ that I began receiving a fair market price for my work,’ he shared.
Deverakonda’s comments were further clarified by producer Dil Raju, who is collaborating with the actor on ‘Family Star’ and future projects. ‘Vijay and I discussed his compensation openly,’ Raju explained. ‘We agreed that the market price should be what benefits all parties involved and ensures project profitability.’
‘Family Star,’ directed by Parasuram, features Devarakonda in the role of a working-class hero. The film, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, is slated for release on April 5th. Deverakonda’s willingness to discuss his financial journey offers a glimpse into the realities faced by even established actors, particularly those who enter the industry without established connections.
