Vijay Antony’s daughter Meera (16) Commits Suicide Due To Depression
‘Bichagadu’ fame Vijay Antony is one of the most popular Tamil actors, who earned a loyal fanbase in the two Telugu states. The musician-turned-actor and producer recently enthralled his fans with two back-to-back films ‘Bichagadu 2’ and ‘Hatya.’
Unfortunately, a pall of gloom descended over the family of Vijay Antony and his wife Fatima on the unfateful day of September 19. They discovered their teenage daughter Meera lifeless in their house in Alwarpet at around 3 a.m.
According to the available information, Meera hanged from the ceiling. Chennai-based media reports say that Meera had been depressed for some reason. She was given adequate mental healthcare under the aegis of an expert. Recently, Vijay Antony publicly spoke of the importance of mental health and why it is essential to treat depression. However, despite efforts to bring his daughter out of her suffering, the doting parents lost their only child.
Antony and other bereaved family members are receiving the profound sympathies of audiences, industry colleagues, and politicians. Senior Tamil actor R Sarath Kumar today tweeted that the news of Meera’s untimely demise is shocking beyond imagination. “No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima (Antony’s wife). Vijay, I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss,” he wrote.
Shoba Chandrasekhar, noted Playback Singer, film personality and the mother of Thalapathy Vijay was one of the first visitors to Vijay Antony’s house after the news broke out. Vijay Antony once lived in their house for rent.

The funeral formalities will take place at Vijay Antony’s house this evening, reportedly.
