Victoria Puram in Anni Manchi Sakunamule Will Take You To A New World: Mickey J. Meyer

Anni Manchi Sakunamule starring Shobhan and Malavika Nair is going to hit the screens on May 18 (Thursday). Music composer Mickey J. Meyer known for his unique style of music has composed the music for Anni Manchi Sakunamule. In an interview ahead of the film’s release Mickey shared his experiences with the cast and crew of the film.
What did you feel when the director narrated the story?
Director Nandini Reddy told me about the fictional village of Victoria Puram. It’s a new world. The village is located on a hill station and is rich in heritage and culture. The music and background score should complement the village’s aesthetics.
Did you share your opinion on the story with the team?
Generally, we get an idea of how the film would turn out when we hear the story. Based on our assumption the amount of effort we put in depends. Once everything is ready for review I will share my opinion with the team.

You stay abroad most of the time, does it not affect your work?
There were no such complaints so far. I never take part in music sitting. I interact with the team over the phone and then send the compositions to the director. My team members also stay in London and America.
You are selective in choosing films?
In the first 10 years of my career, I chose films in which I would like to work. Because then I used to make four to five films a year. Now I want to do more films. I believe people are selective in choosing me for the style of music I make.
