Toxic Ticket Hike Cleared in Telugu States

Toxic Ticket Price Hike Cleared in Telugu States; ₹600 Benefit Show Approved in AP

Yash’s Toxic Gets Major Pre-Release Boost as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Clear Enhanced Ticket Rates

The ticket pricing hurdle for Yash’s highly anticipated pan-India film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has finally been cleared in both Telugu states, just hours ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on August 26. The Telangana government first approved the proposed ticket price hike, followed by Andhra Pradesh giving the film permission for enhanced regular ticket rates and a ₹600 special benefit show.

Telangana Approves ₹50–₹100 Hike

The Telangana government has permitted theatres to increase ticket prices by ₹50 in single-screen theatres and ₹100 in multiplexes and special theatres. The revised rates will be applicable from August 26 to September 4, covering the crucial first 10 days of the film’s theatrical run, with permission for up to five regular shows per day.

The approval comes with an important condition for the producers. KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP have been directed to contribute ₹1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Welfare Committee account, with the amount earmarked for the welfare of film-industry workers.

The government has also instructed theatres screening Toxic to run awareness advertisements highlighting the harmful effects of narcotics, drugs and cybercrime.

Andhra Pradesh Gives Bigger Opening Boost

The suspense in Andhra Pradesh has also been resolved. The AP government has approved a 6 AM special benefit show on August 26, with the ticket price fixed at ₹600 including GST. In addition, regular ticket prices have been permitted to increase by ₹50 in single screens and ₹100 in multiplexes, with the revised rates applicable for 10 days, from August 26 to September 4.

This gives Toxic a strong opening window in the Telugu states, particularly with Yash enjoying a substantial fan following in the region following the success of the KGF franchise.

Advance Bookings Finally Get Momentum

The government approvals arrive at a crucial moment. Advance bookings in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had been delayed as distributors and exhibitors waited for clarity on ticket pricing and special-show permissions. With the GOs now in place, bookings have begun opening across the Telugu states.

The delay was particularly noticeable because Toxic had already generated strong advance interest in other markets. The film’s pre-release momentum has been building steadily, with the Telugu version also registering significant advance sales once bookings became available.

A Crucial Opening for Yash

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role, alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.

With both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh now clearing the ticket hikes, the final roadblock ahead of the release has been removed. The focus now shifts entirely to the box office.
