Today, April 24, is the 89th birth anniversary of Shri Edida Nageswara Rao.

He didn’t plan and make films.. He didn’t dream of Pan India cinema. Every film made became Pan India. Let’s see who he is. He is none other than – Shankarabharanam, Sagarasangam, Swayamkrishi, Swathimuthyam, Apatbandhavudu, Sithara, Sitakachiluka etc.: Sri Edida Nageswara Rao, the famous film producer who gave artistic visual poems to the world. On the occasion of his 89th birth anniversary, let us remember the pictures like Ani Muthyallam that he gave us. Having experience in theater since his college days, he focused on acting and took a train to Madras. At such a time in 1976, with the encouragement of his friends, he took charge of the management of the film Siri Siri Muvva and achieved good success. With the enthusiasm of that success, Purnodaya Art Creations was established and the first film was produced by Tayaramma Bangaraiah. It was a good success. The next film was Kala Tapasvi K. Shankarabharan directed by Vishwanath. A wonderful poem that took the fame of Telugu film to the continents. It is no exaggeration to say that no film has received as much fame, box office collections, national-international-state awards as this film has. The first film to win the Golden Lotus at the national level. Also, at that time any country would talk about Shankarabharanam. The butterfly that came after that was a trend setter at that time. Seethachichiluka is the inspiration for many successful love stories coming up now. This film also got good success. Edida’s next film was Sagara Sangam in the Kamala Haasan K. Vishwanath combination. The audience also went wild for this film. The film has won awards as well as rewards. It was released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil & Malayalam and became a super hit. The next film was another classic – Sitara. Suman and Bhanupriya’s ever green classic is under the direction of Vamsi, who worked in the direction department for all the films at Edida till then. Sitara also got a big place in the national awards. Another Swathimutyam – K. Vishwanath Kamala Haasan’s Animutyam in the combination of Radhika. Released in 1986, this film beat the box office records at that time. A national award winner and a state gold medal winner, Mutyaam is the first ever Telugu film to be nominated for the prestigious Oscars. And it is a big adventure to do a movie with Swayamkrishna – Megastar Chiranjeevi, instead of doing any commercial film with the role of an ordinary shoemaker Sambaya. It was successful and got everyone’s appreciation. This film was a great success and for the first time Chiranjeevi won the State Nandi Award as the best actor. Also the composition of his second son Sriram as the hero did not perform as well as expected. Another film with Vishwanath-Chiranjeevi, Apatbandhudu. Chiranjeevi is a good example of actor Vishwarupa. Nandi Award for State Government Best Actor for the second time .Also narrowly missed out on National Best Actor. Mr. Edida Nageswara Rao, who dared to produce so many great films, has not been given proper recognition on behalf of our government, which means that movie fans are very disappointed. He is fully deserving of the Padma awards and the state government’s Raghupati Venkaiah award. At least if our Telugu governments give him a proper award after his fame, then his films in the film industry will remain as unforgettable pearls, and his fame will be preserved.
They are respected.
