After creating nationwide waves with the Pan-India blockbuster Karthikeya 2, Nikhil is all set to enthral audiences once again with his grand 20th film, Swayambhu. Mounted on an extraordinary scale, this historical action epic is directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, produced by Bhuvan and Sreekar under Pixel Studios, and presented by Tagore Madhu. Backed by top-notch production values and an uncompromising Pan-India vision, Swayambhu stands tall as one of the most prestigious projects in Nikhil’s career.
The makers unveiled major updates today, officially announcing that the monumental shoot has been completed. After an intense two-year production journey and 170 days of large-scale filming, the team proudly declared its wrap. Celebrating India’s glorious past and cultural depth, Swayambhu is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on February 13, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious festival of Maha Shivaratri.
In the “Rise of Swayambhu” release-date announcement video, Nikhil described the experience as both challenging and exhilarating. What initially began as a single film evolved into an expansive cinematic universe, realised through massive sets built across acres of land and executed with meticulous craftsmanship. With crores invested and the unwavering dedication of producers Bhuvan and Sreekar, the team worked with a single mission—bringing an extraordinary legend to life on the big screen.
Deeply rooted in India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, Swayambhu explores untold chapters of history—stories beyond traditional depictions of dynasties and battles. At its core lies the powerful saga of a valiant warrior whose courage shaped an era.
The video also features Nikhil introducing his horse, Maruthi, while spotlighting the film’s brilliant technical crew. For the role, Nikhil underwent a complete physical transformation, intense training, and even dubbed for himself in the Hindi version to enhance authenticity.
The film stars Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh as the female leads. Cinematography is handled by visual genius KK Senthil Kumar, while acclaimed composer Ravi Basrur scores the music. Production designers M. Prabhaharan and Raveendra have crafted a grand and immersive world befitting this epic.
With the shoot wrapped, the rise of Swayambhu officially begins—fueling massive anticipation for what promises to be a spectacular Pan-India cinematic event.
