“‘Sodharaa’ Will Make Everyone Laugh… and Cry Too”: Say Heroes Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh
Known for his quirky and entertaining films, actor Sampoornesh Babu has carved out a unique space for himself in the hearts of Telugu audiences. This time, he’s returning with a film titled ‘Sodharaa’, which explores the emotional bond between two brothers. Alongside Sampoornesh, actor Sanjosh also plays a lead role. The film is directed by Man Mohan Menampally and produced by Chandra Chagantla under the banner of Can Entertainments. ‘Sodharaa’, a family entertainer starring Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh, is set to hit the screens on the 25th of this month. As part of the promotions, the lead actors interacted with the media.
Sampoornesh Babu said:
“We all know how deep and powerful the bond between brothers can be. ‘Sodharaa’ brings that relationship to life on the big screen. This is not like my previous films—it’s a family story, focusing on two brothers. I play the elder brother, carrying responsibilities. While watching the film, many will recall moments from their real life. The character I portray closely resembles a real person from my life, Narasimha Chary.
Initially, I struggled for the first three or four days to get into the role, especially since I had other film shoots going on. But I didn’t want to lose the emotional depth of this character, so I completed all scenes for ‘Sodharaa’ before working on other projects. This film doesn’t just have my usual comedy—it has genuine emotional depth as well. After watching it, I believe people will feel the urge to call their brothers.
Though it doesn’t have the slapstick comedy like ‘Hrudaya Kaleyam’, the humor in ‘Sodharaa’ is heartwarming and family-friendly. People often ask why I’m not doing films like ‘Hrudaya Kaleyam’ anymore, but I haven’t come across a story that matches that level yet. If I find one, I will surely do it. Apart from this film, I’m currently acting in a few more projects, including a web series called ‘Super Subbu’.
As an actor, I want to explore a variety of roles. I’d love to play a character like the one Upendra played in ‘A’.”
Actor Sanjosh added:
“I previously played a hero in the film ‘Bevaras’. Working with Sampoo in ‘Sodharaa’ as brothers has been a great experience. This story revolves around the strong bond between siblings. The director has tagged the movie as ‘bromantic’—a blend of brotherly love and emotion. It’s a story about an innocent elder brother and a more modern, updated younger brother.
There hasn’t been a film in Telugu like this before, centered purely on such a brotherly relationship. I believe everyone will relate to it. Once the movie ends, brothers and sisters everywhere will pick up the phone and call each other.
This is a heart-touching film that makes you laugh and cry. The character played by Babu Mohan, our on-screen father, is a responsible role. He did full justice to it. I already had a rapport with Sampoo and felt he was perfect for this role—it would be a surprise for the audience.
We hope people will realize the purity of brotherhood through this film, something that’s rare in today’s world. If even a couple of people are inspired to reconnect with their siblings, that’s a big win for us.

Sampoo and I are people with good hearts, and we’ve had a great journey. I’ll soon be doing a solo lead role in a film based on a real-life incident. It’s about a story that unfolds between an egoistic police officer and a common man.”
