Grand Launch of Title Glimpse at RK Cineplex, Hyderabad
The title glimpse of Epic – First Semester was unveiled on Monday evening at RK Cineplex, Hyderabad, in a grand event attended by the cast and crew.
The glimpse opens with a visually striking graduation ceremony set in London. Vaishnavi Chaitanya is heard describing the kind of husband she hopes for, while Anand Deverakonda surprises viewers by appearing in a look reminiscent of revolutionary poet and singer Gaddar.
A witty line in the glimpse —
“A love story between a boy who looks like a hero from a Sekhar Kammula film, and a girl who looks like a heroine from a Sandeep Reddy Vanga film”
— instantly hints at the film’s unique tone and humor.
Aditya Hasan continues the emotional track of his popular ‘90s character played by Rohan, promising a heartfelt, nostalgic cinematic experience.
Anand Deverakonda: “Epic will fill the gap of full-fledged Telugu romantic comedies”
Speaking at the event, hero Anand Deverakonda
“Thank you to the media for the constant support. I hope you all like the title Epic. Even before this project came to me, I watched Aditya Hasan’s ‘90s’ web series and loved it. I saw myself in the character of Aditya.
In the glimpse, the way the boy speaks to the girl— I used to fumble exactly like that when I was a student.
This film is about what happens when a grown-up Aditya moves to London under parental pressure. What’s his love story? How does life change for him? Every scene is relatable.
Telugu cinema hasn’t had many full-fledged romantic comedies lately. Epic will fill that space. I’m thankful to producer Naga Vamsi garu for this opportunity. Vaishnavi has acted beautifully. Though set in London, the story feels like something that happens in our own homes. I’m sure audiences will love it.”**
Vaishnavi Chaitanya: “A beautiful love story the youth will instantly connect with”
Heroine Vaishnavi Chaitanya
“We hope you all liked the title glimpse. This is a beautiful love story that today’s youth will relate to. Boys will strongly connect to the hero’s character, and the heroine’s role also has great depth.
Aditya Hasan is one among us — his stories feel so real. This film will remind you of all those small, beautiful memories we’ve lived through.”**
Director Aditya Hasan: “A sincere story of a middle-class youth’s love”
Director Aditya Hasan
“As the director of ‘90s’, writer of Premalu, and producer of Little Hearts, I have always worked with sincerity. I love picking small stories from real life and presenting them beautifully on screen.
Many people asked what was special in ‘90s’, but I believed in it, and it succeeded. I’m making Epic with that same belief.
This is the love story of a middle-class youngster. Everyone will see themselves in the lead characters. Every scene will feel personal. I’m confident the audience will love our film.”**
Producer Naga Vamsi: “Epic – First Semester is just the beginning; there will be more”
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi
“We named it Epic – First Semester because this is just the first part. There is more in store.
After watching the ‘90s’ series, we wanted to work with Aditya Hasan. When he narrated this romantic comedy, we immediately said yes. Personally, I’m a big fan of such films. I believe we’ve made something truly good.”
