“Single” is the Summer Romantic Comedy of the Year – Come to Theatres with Your Family, You’ll Definitely Enjoy It: Heroine Ketika Sharma
King of Entertainment Sri Vishnu is set to entertain audiences with a wholesome entertainer titled Single, under the prestigious Geetha Arts banner. Ketika Sharma and Ivana play the lead roles, while Vennela Kishore appears in a key role. The film is directed by Karthik Raju. Presented by mega producer Allu Aravind under Geetha Arts, the movie is jointly produced by Vidya Koppineedi, Bhanu Pratap, and Riyaz Chowdhary in collaboration with Kalyya Films. The already released teaser, trailer, and songs have created a huge buzz around the film. Single is slated for release on May 9. On this occasion, heroine Ketika Sharma shared her thoughts in a press meet.
How did you come on board this project? How was it working with Geetha Arts?
I’ve always wanted to work with Geetha Arts. If Allu Aravind garu presents a film, you can be sure it has excellent content. When I got the call about this film, I was thrilled that I’d finally be working with Geetha Arts. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration. It’s a very fun-filled film with a perfect star cast — a really good entertainer.
What is your character like in this film?
I play the character “Poorva,” an independent and practical girl. The emotional core of the story comes through my character. Though there are some serious elements, this is an out-and-out romantic comedy entertainer. The love story is also very interesting, and my role is highly relatable.
How was it working with Sri Vishnu?
Sri Vishnu garu is a wonderful person — very simple and humble. He was also very supportive during the acting process. His comic timing is truly unique. He improvises lines on the spot, and his performance is very spontaneous. It was really a great experience working with him.
How was your experience working with Ivana?
Ivana is a very beautiful and sweet girl. Though we only have one or two scenes together on screen, we became really good friends off-screen. She is a very positive person.
The “Adida Surprise” song you did in Robin Wood went viral. Is there a similar dance number in this film?
I was really happy that Adida Surprise went viral. But Single doesn’t have such a dance number. This is a complete fun-filled entertainer — a well-packaged, super entertaining film. People will laugh wholeheartedly throughout the film.

Tell us about director Karthik Raju.
Karthik garu is a very passionate filmmaker. He has a clear vision and knows exactly what he wants. He shaped this film into a highly entertaining one and made sure everyone felt comfortable on set.
Are you happy with your career so far?
I’m very happy with my career. Wins and losses aren’t in our control — only our work is. I always try to celebrate my career without worrying about the results. I truly feel blessed to continue as an actress.
Do you have any dream roles?
I’d love to do a film like the upcoming Girlfriend featuring Rashmika Mandanna under Geetha Arts. Her role in that movie is very beautiful, and playing such a role is my dream. I also want to do performance-oriented roles like those done by Sai Pallavi and Keerthy Suresh.
Was there any scene in this movie that felt particularly difficult?
Comedy is very difficult. It’s not as easy as it looks. The interval bang was especially challenging for me. Matching Sri Vishnu garu’s timing was quite tough.
What are your upcoming projects?
I’m currently working on a Hindi film. I’m also doing a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. A few more projects are lined up, which the makers will reveal soon.
What would you like to tell the audience about Single?
Single is releasing on May 9. Please come to the theatres with your families. It’s the summer romantic comedy of the year — a film guaranteed to make you laugh.
